Rush has one of the most dedicated fan bases of any band. I know I've seen them twice, and I plan on seeing them everytime they're in town. Just for the discussion about 80's bands, I don't include Rush in that group at all even though they played through the decade and still had moderate success.
As for Def Leppard, they never did break up or anything after their guitarists death in the early 90's. Last I saw they were still playing pretty large venues like the outdoor sheds and arenas. Lep's High'n'Dry is one of my all time favorite rock albums, I'd almost put it up against Back in Black.....
