Was reading the latest AOPA magazine and it indicated that Continental was taking delivery of it's last 777 and auctioning off rides on it's inaugural flight. It also indicated that the 777 was going to be discontinued / replaced by the 787. Is this just a misprint?

Hmmm, 777 would be replaced by the 787? But I would believe there is still a big demand for the Two Engine WIDEBODY!
I believe Fedex still has some orders thru 2012! I am sure that was a misprint!

yes it was a misprint! Boeing put a memo out about it a few weeks ago.

I believe the 787 will be a WIDEBODY. From the Boeing web site, the 777 is 8 inches wider, but the 787 is still a twin aisle.

ya the Triple 7 isn't goin nowhere. They wouldn't have blown millions of dollars to develop the LR and the freighter to just say "ah fu*$ it" and cancel the program.

The article was poorly written & did give the impression that B was not going to make more 777s.
