Hi Guys
If any of you guys are interrested there are quite a few jobs in China.
Let me give you the run down.
The pay is low, but it beats going to interviews filling out all the paper work do the simcheck get hired, quite your job what pays 2000 flying bank checks in a beaten up chieftain and then being told that the GS is canceld.

So please no negative coments

If the majors are hiring in a few years I will have current time in a 737.

Here is the scope

1 year contract (staight forward about 3 pages)
8000 RMB's about 1000 US$ Housing allowance.
More then enough (My appartment is 2400 RMB's) Food is cheap and restaurants are cheap exept if you go into western or japanese restaurants and eat steak.
The pay is 1000US$ payable in RMB's You can very easy convert them back into $
4000 US$ in $
2 round trip tickets a year
4 weeks payed vacation after 6 months.
Tickets in china.
Access to local health sevices (very good)
Health care insurance allowance 600 US a year.
Loss of licence insurance.
Uniforms and company bus service from your appartment io the company.
and some other small benefits. Anual bonus ay contract extenion etc etc.
No CD, ether you fly a morning shedule 4 to 6 hours or an afternoon schedule. Only Bejing or Shanghai overnight.
Airplanes are new and maintaind by a Boing contact company.
The Airline has 22 NG,s and 6 Classic
18 Airplane on order 900's
They intend to Hire 60 Pilots from abroad.

If you get hired they will refund you for the ticket.
Medical is almost an astronaut physical
Intervew no stupid senary questions, only why, and how you will addapt.
Sim check is a little hard
Everthing raw data no AP AT and no FD.
RTO
V1 or V2 cut SE GA visual SE landing
30 knt xwind Visual pattern and 30 knot xwind landing
30 knt xwind IMC TO and ILS
Steep turns and stall series.
They are leanient on the standards, basicly they are checking your airmen skills.

Requirements
>5000 tt
>500 737PIC
>3000 121time
<6 month 737 NG currency
If you are not current or only got time in the classic they will help you to get current or get the differential training.
Everthing is negotiable.

Are they hiring FO's?
I have 3700 TT, 135, no 121, and the 737 type, but no time in the plane.
I'm pretty sure I could pass the check you described with no problem.

In China you fly with your US certificate with a validation by the chinese goverment.
There requirements are Capt 500pic in type and I do not know how much for the F/O
The chinese F/os have to have 200h IOE by regs.
Most of them are quite good sticks and they fight to fly with the foregn pilots, because for the chinese capt.they are boy friday (they have to carry the capt. flightbag) and do not let them take off or land and we let them fly the airplane.
So I do not know how they would handle a 0h foreign typed pilot .
The main thing is. The airline wants to pick up international flying to Vietnam, thailand, Singapore and Australia.
For those routes they will need Pilots fluent in English.
The flying is pretty challagning, ATC speeks english, you miss calls and some of the instructions are not quite clear, but you fly almost all in non radar enviroment.
There are some big mountai ranges and some approches are interresting.
Hope this answered some of your questions.
 
Sounds simular to flying in Mexico, can't hardly understand a word those controllers are saying, and some impressive big hills down there too.
 
How would they view these creds?

TT 7200+
FAA ATP with 737/757/767 Types (plus TWO other ICAO ATPLs - all with 737 types!)
2828 in various model 737s with 450 on 737-800NG
Did 737 PIC Initial Type (on FAA ATP) last Feb (03) in 15 straight days thru WIA - but no job afterward!!!!
Lots of international experience
No Jet PIC but 5000+ Jet SIC!!!! (Almost completed 757 PIC upgrade when company tanked!!)
No longer current on anything but willing to do it, PROVIDED there is something better than a "maybe" at the end of it (see above - that type on the 737NG cost $14,000 and it did NOT make me any marketable - pretty amazing!)
Have passport, willing to travel, avialable now.

I say go for it. Flying in that part of the world was always interesting - it's like the final frontier in many respects. See if you can get a 1-2 year contract while you wait for things to heat up back here (but have all of your applications in at ATA, AirTran, JetBlue, SWA, etc.). I have looked into Hainan Airlines out of Haikou - that place is GORGEOUS. Flying one of their 737NGs for 1-2 years wouldn't be a bad thing in my book...

The pay is

All together about 6K

breakdown
8000 RMB = about 1000 US$ Housing allowance more then enough
1000 US$ payable in RMB's very easy to convert
4000 US$ payable in dead presidents money. US$ green money

They will be hiring F/O's, but right now the company puts the pilots who do not quite make there standards for a few months into the right seat as First Officers and then they give them another captains evaluation.
The company evaluator is a former mig pilot and flew the chinese VIP's
(nothing tricky, but fair)

You guys need time in the AC.

The type rating is about 3200US$ in Hong Kong.
The company will assist you after you are hired in getting your recurrent or if you are only typed in the Classic the differential training.
Recurrent is about 1800 US$ + 300 for the instructor
Differental is about 2500 US$ + 400 for the instructor

There are Sims in Hong Kong (Cathai Pacific), Zuhai(Hainan Airlines) and Kunming (Alteon Boeing)

Where do you apply? I saw something on pilotcrewjobs.com through Huaxun Technology that looks like what you are talking about. It was only for captains. I have 1700 in type with a type rating but no PIC in type (3200 PIC all Military). How do you apply for an FO position. Doesn't sound too bad, plus sometimes it is nice to lay low for awhile out of the country!
 
Intervew Gauge

It is Shenzhen Airlines in Shenzhen next to Hong Kong

If accepted by the company (medical, validation and sim check) when you rapport for GS
They will pay for your tickets. In china they will pay for the hotel, meals and air transportation from Shenzhen to Kunming and back.

Most of the guys stay about a week for the initial medical check, sim check (in Kunming) then return home or go to get current and then about a week or two you come back for the GS.

So you arrive on Fri. in Hong Kong.
Most of the US flights arrive to late to go to china the same day.
1 night in Hong Kong about 600 HK$
On Sat you take the ferry to Shenzhen Sheku terminal. 105HK$
Bill will meet you there
There you will get your Chinese landing visa.
A three-month Visa with 2 entries is 840 HK$ (thanks to Uncle Sam, Americans pay the highest Visa fee)
On Sun you take a break.
On Mon there is the 1st medical
(Blood pressure, blood tests, kidney and liver ultrasound, brain EEC, chest x-ray and an EKG stress test.)
On Tuesday you will take a 100 question system test based on the 300 and then fly to Kunming and will take the Sim check on Wednesday and, or Thursday (depends on the schedule).
On Fri you will go to Guangzhau for the 2nd Medical at the CAAC facility. Sometimes the company has to take you to Beijing for the medical.
If there is a scheduling problem I recommend having a ticket back on the following Tues or Wed.
Documents you will need
Passport
ATP with type and no restrictions.
Current 1st class medical (I recomend get a new one)
737 last sim check
737 last line check
Last 90 days of the logbook.
FAA no Accident Incident rapport.
Police arrest and conviction rapport
