I have a bet with a buddy of mine on what stages on the 727 compressor provide a/c and pressurization. The problem is that neither one of us have the proof. So if there are any 727 drivers out there can you please settle this and let me know which stages of the compressor provide pressurization. Thanks! :D

So I can collect my cash.......

As I recall, if you're referring to which stage of ENGINE compression provides a/c & pressurization, it's 8th, supplemented by 13th when 8th is not sufficient.

Are you a PU Av Tech student ?

I get a 30% consulting fee either way !!!

According to John Young....

8th stage augmented by 13th stage (#1 and #3 engine only) drives the packs. This is what my AT 355 notes say anyway:D

8th and 13th is correct. Per my 727 FE study stuff I got here.

C'mon man... haven' t you been keeping those unecessarily enormous Ryan manuals up-to-date since you graduated?!

Does that airline even exist anymore?!

6th stage air is also used for some applications. I'll need to review my manual to remember exactly which system(s).

Not only are you a dork who sits around and makes these bets, but you're a Dork that lost it.

Just kidding. It's ok, a lot of us have drinking problems. I hope this bet was the result of too many beers.

wood used in construction?

Here's an even more trivial 727 question... I was told once that Boeing actually used some wood in the construction of the 727. Can anybody tell me where????

Yeah....The FE tabletop is wood

The covers for the gear viewports are wood.

There is a small piece of wood attached to the FE panel that keeps the FO's seat from slamming into the panel.

dont forget the wood on the back of the fuel dump door

(which bleed--kinda depends on the engine the RR Tay is different than the JT8)
