Our MEC has already spoken to the UAL MEC on the subject and has advised that the UAL pilots will not be looking to enter as captains on any equipment thus keeping the seniority system in tact.

Wiskey,

Assuming you are an AWAC pilot, have you been there long enough to know how much faith you can put in what your MEC is told by the UAL MEC?

They only feeders not under J4J pressure are Mesaba/Big Sky/Pinnacle for NWA (as NWA hasn't mentioned J4J yet), and AWAC feeding AirTran (although they're under J4J pressure from UAL).

Cliff,

Take a closer look at what's happening at Mesaba, Pinnacle and what the NWA MEC has voted to do. I think you may have missed something. They don't call it J4J, but the principle is the same --- transfer as many regional jobs to the mainline as you possibly can, howeever you can.

Also, the Chautauqua pilots have just been coerced into reversing their vote and will now accept J4J. That means that now (since TSA just "agreed') every single USAirways subsidiary or subcontractor has "accepted" J4J and given up their seniority to the U pilots.

Over at American they have their own version of J4J and have just agreed to a way to take the Eagle 70-seat flying and put themselves on the Eagle list ahead of Eagle pilots, in their new TA.

Have no doubt it will come, in one form or another, to every regional airline and especially to those "represented" by ALPA.

I wouldn't throw so many rocks at the Mesa pilots though, they got whatever they got, courtesy of and with the blessing of ALPA. About the only thing they didn't figure out is whose side ALPA is on. It sure wasn't theirs. ALPA created the mess they found themselves in, and then convinced them they were doing themselves a favor by accepting what they did. ALPA sold them the agreement they signed and has them believing it was the only thing they could do.

The idea that ALPA represents the interests of regional pilots is the biggest joke in town. What's sad is that most regional pilots don't seem to grasp the screwing they're getting from their own "union". ALPA's policy is pretty clear = there's a sucker born every day and he's a regional pilot; take full advantage of them.

That's exactly what most regional pilots are letting them do and proving them right in the process.

Yes I am employed here approaching three yrs, and I guess there is some truth to that.
