Wow, we had that same problem in 1997 at the top of descent into LAS, and I am still alive. The pilots actually had to shut the engine down. It felt like a yaw damper problem to me. They did roll the trucks for us as a precaution. We never said a word to the passengers - they did wonder why we were being followed by trucks at night with flashing red lights down the runway! :D

The media needs a good disaster or something to keep them away from aviation. BTW, did they interview the student pilot again? :)

Yeah, yeah, old news, but I just noticed, how do you get anywhere near Columbus when you are going from Jacksonville to Memphis?
