Quick question for the NetJets folks. I was just offered either a class in the 400xp or the Ultra. Can anyone make a quick comparison - upgrade times, pros and cons of the equipment, any issues I probably don't see as a new hire? Thanks!

Depends on your definition of pro and con.

The 400XP has less range but gets there quicker. It also has half the baggage space of the Ultra. But it has a "little" bit more room. The 400XPs still have the "new car" smell to them.

Oh yea....and Raytheon needs to get into 1990s and put single point fueling in the XP. (So no quick turns.)

If I'm not mistaken, the 400XP also has TCAS. Pretty simple equation to me.

My 800XP has single point capability. Turn time is a function of landing weight and brake cooling--either five minutes or 30 minutes outside the weight envelope.

Tailwinds...

400xp has xm radio. Ultra has a cd player. I'd go with the 400xp

You already have experience on the Beechjet - perhaps you should try the Ultra... I've heard good and bad things about both. At least you'll have shorter flights than the ones you are used to on the C5...

The ULTRA has something I consider a very valuable asset that the 400XP does not.........................FRIGGIN AILERONS!!:)

The question was refering to the 400XP. See, you fly the REAL Hawker though. The Mitsubeechjet 400XP does not have a single point fuel connection. That is why I said no quick turns. No such thing when you have to overwing the fuel.

Beyond the ailerons, any other good points to flying the Ultra? Doesn't seem to be too popular on these boards but it has to be better than the Bravo at CS - right? I've heard it is too slow and too warm up front with the big windows - but are there any good points beyond mostly short trips? Is it fun to fly?

Yes, the Ultra is better than the Bravo. Good avionics (minus TCAS) great service ceiling, good second segment climb, and fun to fly. The only real negative is that ours are getting a little long in the tooth, and there is no APU.
