So, how many classic or jurassic GIV's are being sold due age or whatever? heard 3 this year and 4 next, that slows upgrade by 15 at least this year

The order is all 450's and 550's. No 650's....yet.

Many of the aircraft are replacement aircraft for the classic IV's. I'm told three IV's are out the door this summer.

Netjets orders with Gulfstream are a combined order for ALL divisions of the company including NJI, NJE, and NJ India. Most of the 550's currently being delivered are going to Europe, not NJI. My guess is many of the orders are for anticipated demand as India gets up and running. I expect net fleet growth at NJI to continue at a steady, if modest pace of two to three aircraft per year.

GSD,

What's the latest you heard about India? I haven't heard anything for a while.

I am at 2.5 yrs senority at NJA and there are still people senior to me bidding into NJI. My numbers are:

3 years at NJA as FO to be able to hold a NJI slot.
5 years at NJI as FO, 2 of which must be in the GIV.

That equals a minimum of 8 yrs as FO. Of course with the current rate of upgrades at NJA, it looks like a 6 year upgrade for me. Still pondering.......

GSD,

No specifics but it is definitely on the front burner. There are now more billionaires in India and China than in the U.S. The demand there will be huge. Like anything else, it will take a while to put the infrastructure in place. I can see most of those deliveries 3-5 years down the line heading west and some of our crews going over to help get them started much like the NJE program.

Obviously, it's good news about the future of the program but I know we won't get to fly ALL the airplanes on order.

The NJA transfer's with our long seatlocks in the "classic" will be the one's ferrying them to their prebuy. :)

I didn't get very excited about this announcement as I see these acft as "replacements" for the current G-IV's.

NetJets was, is, and will forever be the large cabin international operator of fractional aircraft. We have this segment of the market cornered, and no one is going to offer something to replace it.

I see some of the planes as replacements. Nobody said where they actually go. NJE, NJME NJI who knows.
