Does anybody has any info on 3M flight department? I know they fly GV's and one or two GIV's, but how are their schedules, what is starting pay, time off, benefits, etc?

Thank You

do a search here, they were talked about earlier.

sounded like a good outfit (?) but like many, tough to break into.

All I know is they have two huge hangars. They park 5 Gulfstreams in there nose to tail. Pretty neat sight when the doors are open.

They're based out of STP (I'm guessing you know that).

I've heard from people around the airport that'd it be easier to get into Fort Knox than their Flight Department. I think a majority of the pilots are ex military, and all have substantial G-ride time. However, that's just what other people on the airport say.

Who knows, maybe they hire everyone with 500 hours and no turbine time!!

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** that's a nice airplane, any GV drivers here want to hire me:D

Why is D a m n a censored word here and ass isn't?

I've never heard them use a call sign, just a tail number. Which, all conveniently end in "Three Mike"

The last time I was in STP three of those GV's were leaving. What a pretty site!!! There call sign is mining. I used to know why. I think it has something to do the original owners?

I'm with IP076, I hear them coming out of STP and its always Gulfstream (insert number)3mike, never mining.

No kidding, wish all flight departments were this way. I'd love to fly one!

No kidding... and for a company with only $16.3 Billion in sales, that is a pretty impressive fleet... My company is nearly twice that size, we could use a couple of those G-V's for the trips we do...

I feel so sorry for you Falcon capt. I can't imagine having to fly around 5 year old airplanes:p
Tell me about it! Well the 900EX's are only 3 1/2 years old... but the 50's... those are OLD! (5 years)!!!

Wooooeeesssss Me!

16 Bil in sales and that type of dept is pretty odd...

someone there LOVES aviation. (and thats good)

some companies have 16+ bil in PROFIT in a year and dont have that kind of fleet!!!

:D :D :D

Do my eyes deceive me?

Did you and GVFlyer switch places or something? I'm sure there's a 7X in your future.

Falcon Captain will get a Dassault 7X for their short range trips (5700nm) and a Gulfstream G550 for the long ones (6750nm @ M .80, 6500nm @ M.83, 6000nm @ M.85, 5000nm @ M.87). The G550 has 6% more thrust (30,770 lbs) than the GV and flys 4% farther on the same amount of fuel. Ain't technology grand? At least Falcon has figured out that if three engine airplanes were a good idea someone else besides them would make a three-holer.
