Can you please explain that to everyone else on here who has no clue what you are talking about. So what will happen to those management pilots?
Thanks.
Bye Bye--General Lee
As it stands now, UPS had made no mention of including management pilots in any job reduction.
I don't see how they could furlough the management pilots considering the amount of work on their plates. Getting rid of them would be suicidal in terms of the work load. Management pilots at UPS are literally the glue.
that was an extremely weak effort at flaming dude, your work is usually much better.
I agree. Give credit where it is due... Instructordufus definitely raises the trolling bar. Subtle enough, yet just in your face... I give Instructor a "touche" for his his persistence and creative irritations. Among the FI trolling, he has definitely raised the bar.Oh I disagree...usually his sh!t is weak but this post was at least an 8/10.

I always wondered what made all the peanuts stick together after a smokin' dump?Management pilots at UPS are literally the glue.
they will not furlough one ups pilot, mark my word-- 54 million in cost savings is nothing.
U
They are the ones who hold the place together and put the company ahead of themselves!UPS has hired approx 200 non union pilots. These pilots are considered "supervisors" and are not part of the IPA (our in house union). The perform duties such as training, linechecks, paperwork etc. The also sit reserve and operate many trips for ups under the guise of mgt emergency flying.
Sounds like they are the ultimate team players. It is not uncommon for one to work in the office all day and then be called out that night to fill in for a union pilot if crew scheduling is short IPA crews.
If 300 pilots were furloughed, how far back would that go? 2003? 2005?

I remember the Teamsters strike in '97 (I believe the pilots were on a sympathy strike?).
UPS management used every last bit of available chartered lift they could find...from on-demand DC-8/DC-9 AC down to every last available Falcon and Lear.
Crazy times back then. UPS was making a killing back then too. I wonder how far management will take it this time.

What makes you think this is about money? Cutting jobs to save money is one thing but, cutting jobs due to being overstaffed is another. I believe what you have is a staffing problem, not a money problem.
