I'm sorry, I thought this thread was going to be a joke. "Twenty 727 F.O.'s walk into a bar..."

I'll give it a try....

Twenty 727 F/O's walk into a bar. They all sit down, look over their left shoulders, and loudly say, "What's in the catering?"

Thanks - I'll be here all week....

hay

No they look over their shoulders and say whos picking up the check, geee should we put it on the card or pay cash so there is no record of this transaction,,, hehehehehehehehe:cool:

B727 Jobs

Would someone who belongs to that board please post some more information?

Based on past experience from seeing these "ads," I, too, would react that this is you-know-what.

:D Now that's funny!

20 727 FO's rented an apartment. They were short on grocery money, so they ate the slacker from the group. Then there were 19.

I thought all 727 FO's were slackers . . . . professional slackers.

Fly every other leg, talk on the radio, and let everyone else do the real work (checklists, company calls, W&B, walk arounds, etc)-

Where do I sign up?

Ty Webb:

727 F/O job is the easiest job you will ever have in flying. As the saying goes Window Heat, Pitot Heat and Whats to eat.

Hardly every did the window heat, FE did on the Cockpit setup when he checked it. Plus you never really get wet or dirty, unless you don't know how to eat.

Did the job for a year. Great.

No more of these types of jobs around anymore.

Paying my dues now though.

One of my regrets is not having had the opportunity to fly as part of a three-man crew.

Another is not having been a pilot during the glory days . . . . the days of F/A weigh-ins, and before the days of security, locked cockpit doors, and the the introduction of the
delightful "Trying to Smell Alcohol" people.

You've probably already heard these but here goes:

You know what themost important purpose of an 727 FO is?

Keep any birdstrike from hitting the engineer.

You know Boeing is thinking about retrofiting the 727 for a 2 man crew layout. You know how they plan on doing it?

They are going to add another 2 feet onto the gear handle so the engineer can reach it easier.

I too echo the above statement about missing out on a 3 man crew airliner. Those were the days. I remember jumpseating on several while at COEX (CAL's 727 and DC-10) towards the end of their service with CAL. Good thing was if you didn't like the other guy, you had a third to back you up in any argument and the conversation didn't get stale for at least 3 hours into the trip.

If only I had been born 20 years earlier.

That is funny!!

Flying "sidesaddle" in a 3 man crew was a blast.

Here's one more, Typical 727 F/O after takeoff checklist:
Gear up, Flaps up, "I'll take the chicken."
:p

If SWA had 727's, would all three crew members have to fly nekid or would the flight engineer be allowed the option?

I used to believe that FO on the 727 was the easiest job in aviation.
Then I had a guy in one of my classes at riddle who was a flight engineer on the GV at MacDill. I never did get a straight answer out of him as to what he actually did in that capacity...

"One of my regrets is not having had the opportunity to fly as part of a three-man crew."

Trust me Ty, your's is a better gig. Plus, if that's what you were doing now, your DO wouldn't even sneeze in your direction for an interview.

On a lighter note.......

B727 crew was on a cross country and the captain says, "Ya know I think when it comes to sex, it's really about 75% work and only about 25% play." The first-officer says, "That's just cause you're old. It's really more like 25% work and 75% play." The second-officer, who has just barely been able to pay attention to the conversation for doing all the performance calculations, calling the company, running the checklists and setting the cruise power, finally can't stand it any longer and says, "Both you guys are wrong! Everybody knows sex is 100% play. If there was ANY work involved, you'd have ME doing it for you."
