This is gonna be funny. It'll be something like this:

I made 18,000. But it would have been 18,500 if it weren't for those bar-lowerers at G0Jets!

None. Too much self worth.

6th year pay at Comair - 2005 I made $75.8k.
2006 should be like $35k and change.

Thanks Delta! Oh and thanks - Mesa, CHQ, SKYW. And before you bottom feeders get all huffy, who started this pay to play crap? If you voted for the MESA or CHQ TA or sat around SKYW and agreed to fly 70 for 50 pay than take responsibilty for the slide to the bottom for all of us. Don't give me the Freedom or Republic excuse, I walked the line in 2000, voted no for the 2005 LOA and will vote no for the POS of 2006. I have allready had to make the move to the right seat, and even with the threat of liquidation my vote will still be no. As Chris Rock said, "Cause that sh!t just aint right!" Just watch, if this passes - your next. "Mesa no longer competitive - need cuts to compete."

I don't hold anything against the MESA, CHQ and SKYW guys/girls that tried to hold the line and vote against the crappy contracts that the rest of your pilot group voted in. I may be soon out of job, but I am doing the right thing. Now I will get off the dam* cross, as they need it for the next martyr.

Brett Hull enjoys being a slave biaaatch for his boss. "Yes your majesty how high do you want me to jump today while I do your lawn and wash your car and shine your shoes. Can I please fly your nice corporate learjet?" "My job is soooo much better than a piece of crap regional job, I know since I make 35k a year this has to be a lot more than those stupid regional pilots."

Been there, done that! No thank you.

Thanks For The Answers.
Anybody From Psa, Air Wisky?

Rogue5, I See That You Earned 45k During Your Second Year At Skywest. That Sounds Nice. How Did You Do That?
According To Airlinepilotpay, Second Year F/o Hourly Rate Is At 35 $
Correct Me If Im Wrong But 35*75*12= 31500$
Am I Missing Something?

Also Some Poeple Wrote They Were Paid 100 Or 120 Credit Hours. Do You Guys Fly 120 Hours ? If No, How Can You Get Paid 120 Hours If You Dont Fly That Much?

Thanks

Ever heard of per-diem, underblock pay and the fact that one can fly up to a 100 hrs a month? When you add all of that together you can come up with those figures. Per-diem alone adds up to a couple hundred a month more on top.

I'd be happy to respond, but only if you Stop Capitalizing Each Word...

Pilots get paid more than their min guarantee. Many refer to this as "soft time," hours you get paid above and beyond actual hours spent in the air. Many factors contribute to this: daily pay guarantees, trip and duty rigs, holiday pay, if you are paid the greater of scheduled vs. actual block, junior man pay, profit sharing bonus, etc. all contribute to the bottom line. Not all companies pay the same, it is up to the various groups to negotiate their contracts (although SKYW is slightly different in that we have no "contract" per se).

I also put myself on reserve quite a few times that year (if they need you, they pay you time and a half, if not they pay you 3:45 anyway). I do admit I worked a bit harder than most that second year trying to pay the bills (well, worked "more," not "harder" really) and my W2 reflects that.

I don't pick up so much extra stuff anymore...

I thought SKW paid only $19 an hour first year. 19x75=17100. You must of never sat reserve and made a hell of lot of per diem.

Per-diem should not be used in the calculation of wages. Per-diem is nothing more than reimbursement for meals while flying.

If you are using per-diem to boost your monthly salary then your pay must be very bad.

oops..wrong thread

Wow, what did you do with all that money?

I'm impressed [Sarcasm-OFF]

I earned a meager $23,525.34 (about $18,700 after taxes) during the last year as an ERJ FO at Expressjet. 2 months of that were on 2nd year pay.

Yes, but it's not like many office jobs provide their employees with free lunches or pay them extra to reimburse their meal expenses during the work day.

Actually, I would guess that almost all companies reimburse their employees when they travel on company business (definitely those who have any kind of responsibilities, and dont pilots?). And I would wager it usually adds up to quite a bit more than the average per diem.

BTW, I used to work for a company that served 3 hots a day in every facility with more than 50 employees. Great company, great paycheck, great benefits.......damn how did I get sucked into loving aviation??

I have yet to see any company that does not reimburse its employees for expenses while traveling. Per-diem is not and should not be counted as compensation, becuase it is not. Look on your W2; perdiem will have not been added as taxable income. Thats because it is not income.

Counting per-diem as part of your compensation package means that that extra $300 really means alot to your overall take home pay. If that is the case then your base pay leaves alot to be desired.

My comment was directed at some idiot who thinks he knows what a friend of mine is making and/or his quality of life is like when he doesn't have a clue. Then; said idiot goes on to talk about how all that per-diem adds up.

Open mouth, insert foot Bigpappa.
