As I recall Commutair had one of the doors pop open in flight going into Dulles one fine day (fall 2000?), and other than the crews' hats and/or coats being sucked out the open door (of a thankfully empty flight), the airplane was none the worse for wear. Please thank the brand spanking new FO for not latching the door properly... I guess the flashlight wasn't deployed in checking the door bolts... Again, as I recall. Don't quote me on this.

One tough airplane, IMHO. [/B]

I think it was out of Richmond, but as you said, don't quote me on it.

Captain Hook did a great job.

Yeah, I think it was out of RIC, in March '01 (or first week of April). Happened while I was in new hire G/S, the day after our instructor gave us a lecture about making sure the door was properly secured.

Great airplane though. If only it had a Lav and APU.

Continental Express also had an inflight main cabin door incident some years back in the B1900D...If I remember correctly it happened on departure from KCLE.

It was in IAH, and the door cables snapped and the captain had to land it on the door, which tucked under the fuselage.

AMW had a cargo door oepn on takeoff out of hot springs, AP a few months ago. they just circled around and landed.
