How many regional pilots lost their job today or were put on administrative leave today due to HR 5900?

U do realize that it doesn't go into effect til August 10 right?!

(30 days from final rule release, Not today)

That is not what the federal law says. The credit for a restricted ATP may be what you are talking about.

It looks like I jumped the gun. I retread the bill and it appears it passed aug25,2010 and ATP is required in 3years from that date. Nevertheless, I heard the American Eagle will have at least 100 pilots that won't qualify due to insufficient flt hours and also heard Silverwings has some pilot that are less than 23 years old. So I was wondering if anybody has any other info on pilots being affected.

No, it went into effect today.

From the NPRM:

"On August 1, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Airline Safety and
Federal Aviation Administration
Extension Act of 2010 (Pub. L. 111?
216..."
"
Section 216 requires the FAA to issue
an NPRM by January 28, 2011, and a
final rule by August 2, 2012.
Independent of any rulemaking
proceeding by the FAA, this section
directs that all flightcrew members in
part 121 air carrier operations must hold
an ATP certificate, issued under part 61,
by August 2, 2013."

I heard the age 23 portion has been dropped, but that was just a rumor?

OCC is saying fly anyway and grieve it! (-; After all, FARs are just like a cba to them.
