I'm getting ready for my first interview, and everyone's saying "get 142 FTd time" Anyone know where to get that in south east pa, and approx. cost?
thanks

They have them at Riddle but I have no idea why someone would tell you you need it. You can't log it as total time so the only thing it's good for as far as your interview is concerned is to help you practice for the simulator.

It takes a while to get used to the feel of the Frasca 142. It's very pitch sensitive and doesn't require as much stick motion as most airplanes. Nothing major but you don't want to show up to an interview without having flown it some.

I don't know of any 142's in that area. There's several 141's (single engine version). Lehigh Carbon Community College has one. In New Jersey, "Sky Blue" at Morristown has one, as does Air Fleet in Teterboro. Century Flight Academy at CDW has a 242.

A quick google search revealed a 142 at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, and at Eastern Cincinatti Aviation.
