Hello,
I had some part 135 questions if people could answer them?

the t/o mins are 1 mile for 2 engine plane unless otherwise noted correct?

You have a to land within the touchdown zone for part 135, correct ( i read that in part 91)?

DO you have to have an approved MEL for part 135?

What item can u defer from that MEL?

More might come as i look over the regs more.
thanks in advance for any help

1. Standard Takeoff minimums are 5000 RVR or 1 Statute Mile.

2. TDZ... yep.

3. No, however, absolutely everything has to be working on that aircraft.

4. You can defer any item that is listed in the MEL, however, you have to research the item in the MEL to; 1. See if it's listed, 2. How many days it can be deferred, 3. Whether it can be flown in IFR or at night ect., 4. If you need a mechanic to disconnect it... the list goes on and on. If it's not listed in the MEL you're grounded.

RJ has it but for two exceptions...

takeoff can be lower in certain circumstances, hence RJones using the preface "standard"

requesting a long landing will circumvent the TDZ issue

;)

"lower" than standard can be approved and will be listed in the company ops specs in the appropriate section.

When you do defer an item (s) ("if" it is) possible -then make sure that the mx logs are noted correctly with an appropriate endorsement, date which it is deferred till, and placard the inop instrument when applicable and needed. A few pilots have ran into trouble with regards to this issue when ramp checked and inspector looked into this matter. Know your ops specs inside and out.

other answers were pretty much correcto

Thanks

The FARs are confusing enough and I have gotten a headache reading the 135, 91 t/o and landing mins. Then throw in the 135 crew rest requirements. I am a goner.
Oh well
Got to learn it sometime
