Pilots are inherently selfish people. Unfortunately 51% of those that wanted the rules changed mid-stream won. It was a large effort on many fronts.

Does anyone really think that it will "sunset" back in 592ish days? we will probably hear things like...."its not fair....what about retirement....poor planning....blah blah blah"....the aviation equivalent of "too big to (let) fail...."
