My employed airline buddy tried to cheer me up with this factoid.

May 2010 may bring an increase in retirements due to the 62.5 year option to begin receiving reduced S Securidad benefits.

This seems like a possibility, but I can't see it being a beeg factor. SS $ is just so ********************e compared with active pilot pay. Even at US Scareways, where I have been desperately awaiting movement like a geriatric prune poppin' sufferer of constipation, the pay is so much for than the retirement $.

Anyone discuss this previously here? This thread is too huge to bother with a search.
