Just curious, what if any are the company imposed limits on the number of hours you guys can drop per month at your place of employment?

Thanks

On the Delta side at ACA, a pure DTR is almost guaranteed to be denied. I hear similiar stories over on the United side.

Same on the UEX side. The contract states that a DTR will be immediately granted provided sufficient reserves...I guess we need a definition for "sufficient". Seems like 20 in the bucket would be!

That being said I got a DTR approved the other day after waiting about 1 week. I hear everybody else complaining though.

Fly Safely.

Almost impossible here at Pinnacle too. Trip-trades are easily done, but a pure drop is not easy to get scheduling to give you.

We call them personal drops at Continental Express. They are very seldom denied. There are a lot of catches though. If you're on reserve, they'll take the value of the time dropped from your minimum guarantee (reserve pilots never get above guarantee these days).

It depends upon whether you're screwing the chicks in scheduling or not. I simply jumspeat down to where they are and take care of business once a month.... (yeah I lose a day off but it comes with the job)

We have no limits, but it depends on staffing. They technically can't deny it if the staffing is adequate, and the same rules apply as for a trip trade. I have never had any trouble, but I personally can't afford to drop ALL my trips!

At ASA, fugeddaboudit.

We even get open time swaps denied for "reserve coverage". Trip drops are out of the question.

Thanks for the replies.

What about if you find a guy w/ a day off and he wants the trip and you want to give it away.

Does your company limit how much you can give away to fellow aviators? Just curious of your company's practice.

Isn't that what sick days are for?

just kiddin

I've got more sick time built up than I could use in two years

Spirit never has "coverage" either.
