If ALPA is going to sit on it's thumbs and follow it's own agenda then maybe it's time we take things into our own hands at a grass-roots level.

It seems to me the heaviest travel day of the year is the day before Thanksgiving. I wonder what would happen if EVERY pilot at EVERY pax airline from SEA to MIA and SAN to BOS wasn't "feeling well" on this date.

Is this professional? Probably not, but mgmt. doesn't seem to have a problem with it's lack of professionalism.
Would we prevent a rare opportunity for many families to be together for the holiday? Most likely, and that is unfortunate, but many of us would be with our families for a change.
With the death spiral the industry is in would we feel better sticking it to mgmt. in the only place they feel anything? That is to be left up to each individual.

Loss of pensions at UA.
26-34% pay cuts at AK.
Everyone thinking that something should be done.

Just an idea.

Bad Idea on many levels. I do understand and empathize with the underlying sentiment though.

A similar "idea" cost the APA $45M. Are you prepared to suffer the consequenses of you actions? You never know. Seemingly "good" ideas have been known to explode right in the faces of those who thought they would get rid of the bomb before it went off.

IMO, this is not a good nor workable idea. It will accomplish nothing and is not the way professionals conduct business. But if you need to stoop to the levels of those you intend to harm, then have at it. I doubt you'll have much company, though.
