You don't get to throw an untruth out there and get away with it. You, along with the conservative media, need a history lesson. The ACORN video was edited where, at the end, the ACORN rep says "I'm just playing along with you guys; you're kidding, right"? Then, when the actors left, the ACORN rep called the police to tip them off about a possible illegal operation and an illegal immigration.

So a community group, established to help less privileged folks, was ******************** down and smeared by a lie, and by people like you who get their "news" from FOX, and don't bother to follow up with the real story.

Don't compare ACORN to TSA. TSA isn't helping any of us.

Give me a break, you are defending an entity that has plead guilty to Voter Fraud (Nevada - felony conviction) and is facing additional prosecutions for the same crime. Those crimes have nothing to do with the Videos but the videos brought to light the criminal nature of the organization. Keep living the dream that it existed to "help the little guy" - the truth is much different than your constructed reality.

Alright.. this is getting political and about here... what started out to be aviation related... lets get this thread back on the aviation side.. otherwise we can move it to non- av section.. lets not go into politics..

Mod.. clr4

Then you should probably move the thread because the nature of the issue, ie: violation of American citizens rights, failure of government "leaders" to effectively defend this country, etc. is inherently political.

ok... I think it is an important topic, but it applies to all of aviation.. I'll move it to general aviation topics..

but please lets not degrade this to a non-aviation thread.. keep it on topic..

Fair enough, everyone should be making as big a deal about this as possible to put the TSA in check. The fact that Napolitano had to do a press conference today is proof of the pressure they are feeling. Also, did anyone else catch her downplaying the complaints from APA and USAPA - she essentially said "pilots are only concerned because of the health issues." What a load of carp.

A sure way to change or get rid of the TSA will come when the public stop flying and start driving or taking other modes of transportation..

worse, businesses drastically increase the "go to meeting" type of electronic tools to do business that would have been done in person..

The terrorist win a little more each and every day.

JN is completely in over her head.

I don't think she's in over her head (just like 0) - she's perfectly content in corralling the law abiding citizens into bowing and cringing to the government.

In (somewhat) fairness, it is difficult to measure how many people would have attempted to committ an act of terrorism if it weren't for the security measures. Now with that said, how far do does the government go with this? I speculate someday they'll require pax to scan their ID's along with their ticket, then go through the x-ray. That way they have the body image, name, DOB, address, and SSN (since you have to provide that to get a DL) - I know, I know they don't save the pix. Plus if you use a credit card to purchase there is another cross check. The silver lining this can be used for 0'Care to show to your physician in case you need it! Problem with big commerce and big government you don't know how, and what, they use all this info/intel for. They want to know everything about you but don't want you to know what they know or how they use it. I don't have enough criminal mind to figure it out.

I don't know all the details,...but who's to say you can't just refuse the air transportation route, do a 180, and rent a car to South Dakota??? What am I missing here???

I think it was the 9th circuit appeals court that decided this is not an option. It would allow terrorists to test out weakspots and continue to do so until they get through. So if you discontinue the security screening you are subject to that civil lawsuit and 10k fine.

I understand the intent here.. so the lession here, is that passengers and flight crews now know what to expect at the airports... before they buy tickets.. In July, I had to get patted down as usual, pre-touch of the junk was still in effect, but my nice suit jacket was entirly wrinkle up as TSA bunched it up in a tote ben that ended up getting crap piled on top of it while I gropped.. in the open as well.. it just sucks..

I say drive, take a train, or bus... or a "staycation" as they are advertising down here in Florida... Screw it it's not worth the effort unless the drive is more than 18 hours. Next time I have a west coast trip I'll go in my pajamas and slippers and then get dressed on the other side of security!!!! and what ever you do dont take Cialis within 24 hours, unless you want to impress the screener! :)

The next step is bend over and cough!!"(
