The worst carb icing I've ever gotten was in a Piper Warrior. It went away as soon as I turned on the carb heat though.

And you guys missed the most important one of them all...the article headline says...

The owner of the school wasn't flying the crashed plane, was he?

No, a CFI named John was. Why all the of the sudden would he come out to his lawyer and admitt to lying in someones log book? Sounds like he's trying to cover something else up.
Having flown all his airplanes before, I wouldnt doubt it if his buddy in Naperville is just whipping the mx logs for some extra cash.

...and the flight school it was from revoked his license for falsifying the training records of a flight instructor.
Man, that's one powerful Flight School. They can revoke licenses!

Oh yeah, it's not a license, it's a

CERTIFICATE!!!:uzi:

Sorry, I just HATE when they call it a license. I'm grumpy. Need sleep.

Yea, that article reeks. Just think of how many other articles the media screws up on other topics and then people read those articles and formulate lasting opinions based on them.

I was talking to my buddy who still works for this guy over the summer breaks, as a CFI. I was telling him how I was pissed because the live news segment said that he had forged logs and documents on the airplanes he owned.
The media blows, and when they do find out the full and complete truth about this shady bastard, they will still get the story wrong.

Clements' license was revoked because he signed off a student for the Private practical without actually flying with him. A certain FSDO inspector was sitting in on the student's checkride, and in the debrief (the student failed) asked the student who recommended him for the practical. The student then admitted that he never flew with his "instructor."

Getting their feet chopped off? Where'd you get that from?
If some one crashed my plane, Piper or Cessna, I would cut more than their feet off....

Thanks. Thats what I was looking for. So his suspension is really unrelated to the crash. At least directly unrelated. Pretty serious offense though.
