06C Flight School Owner Hangs for his lies

I don't get it.. What sign off did he falsify? Did he sign off the instructor on a check-out that didn't happen? Wouldn't this be more of an insurance (non-FAA) issue?

Or was he the Chief pilot and had to check him out to let him give instruction?

"They say he made a false or fraudulent entry in a pilot logbook record stating that he had flown with the trainee when he hadn't."

Not that I want to advocate someone losing the ability to fly...

They didn't erase his knowledge of flying, they just removed the administrative privilege.

And you don't hear too many stories of Cessna pilots getting their feet chopped off by the airplane in emergency landings, unlike Pipers...

I haven't heard of this ever....do tell.

Also, i will agree that this flight school owner had it coming. he's a shady one.

No, a CFI named John was. Why all the of the sudden would he come out to his lawyer and admitt to lying in someones log book? Sounds like he's trying to cover something else up.
Having flown all his airplanes before, I wouldnt doubt it if his buddy in Naperville is just whipping the mx logs for some extra cash.

Yea, that article reeks. Just think of how many other articles the media screws up on other topics and then people read those articles and formulate lasting opinions based on them.
