You won't get on the Jumpseat on an E120, your best bet is misconnects.
Personally I'd fly into LAX since you have both UAL and AE flights on the CRJ. As long as you talk to the captain it should be no problem for you to get on the jump, there are rarely weight restrictions but the gate agents...
I remember when they started this at SLC. The controller was vectoring us all over the place until I asked what time he wanted us across the gate. He gave us the time and we adjusted speed to make it happen. It's not difficult, why are controllers more apt to give us turns instead of speed...
It's not exactly the same attachment on the 700/900 but it's similar. Some have the same popping noise. When you hear about wing cracks on the 900s they are referring to cracks in the bearings in those dog bone mounts.
The nose strut is fully extended as soon as you lift off, I've never heard...
There are 3 fittings on each side of the wing at a point 45 inches from the wing centerline. They attach to 3 large frames that are part of the fuselage. There are 16 bolts, two dogbones links and two tie bars up front. The dog bones are what make the popping noise and they have bearings in them...
Varmint is correct. Challengers also make this noise, there is a service bulletin fix for it but generally it doesn't change the noise much. I don't think the airlines would invest in something like that anyway.
Oh wow thanks for the constructive answer, the discussion actually came up in real life and since I don't live on these boards I was curious if there was any truth to it. Perhaps you can point me to a thread where this was already discussed?
I think most of these companies won't go into the actual interview stage until they are actually ready to hire someone. In my case I am in a holding pattern after my hangar tour until they are ready to hire, then I will be among the people who come in to meet the rest of the employee group in...
This is a great thread! I have been in contact with a department for the last three years that I'd love to work for and I'm hoping something will come to fruition in the next year. The interview process echoes everything said here so far, HR interview to get in the door, hangar tour with the...
Maybe I'm off base here but did he expect you'd go to sim every 90 days to maintain currency? The attitude of SICs not flying is one of the dumbest things I think a PIC or Chief Pilot can have.
A driverless Ford Ranger also damaged an airplane in the 440 range back when it was brand new (less than 100 hours TT). Ramper pulled up to the service door and got out with the truck in R instead of P. Truck subsequently backed itself up around the wing and jammed itself backwards under the...
Took the Malerone and had no problems with it. I avoided dairy unless it was hot in my coffee, drank bottled carbonated water, no ice, and didn't eat any unskinned fruits/vegetables.
I still managed to get some food poisoning from a salad
bar. Never should have eaten from the salad bar, damn...
The doctor actually told me that the best defense is good mosquito repellent. He said the pills are obviously good to have but reality is don't hang out where mosquitos are prevalent (camping, jungle hiking, etc.) and use good repellant.
Ended up with vaccines for HepA, HepB, and Yellow Fever as well as Malaria pills. Total including the prescription for the pills was $590. I'll keep the CDC 731 in my passport.
I saw shots for Rabies and a few other undesirables. I'm sure some areas of the world would require a whole load of...
What do you guys normally get for vaccinations? I know it's dependent on where you're going but I assume there is a standard set people go for.
Do you just go to Urgent Care to get them or do you go to the County Health office?
1. The 600 and 601 (all variants) are the same type rating. You take your training course for the aircraft you will be flying. For example I fly a 601-3A/ER which means it was a 601-3A from the factory and had the tail tank added. My training was specific to this aircraft but I also asked for a...
