I'm getting ready to take the FE Written (again)....my Gleim book is copywrited 2000...have the written changed a lot over the years? I know there's going to be small changes like regs, but are there any major changes that would require me to purchase the new updated book? because I'm way too...
Are there major differences between the 604 and 300? Is this 1 type rating or two different ones? Would you mind giving me a small list of things you like and dislike about each?
Grazie!
Does anyone know what ever happend to the ATC who let his kids use the radios and clear planes for takeoff last summer?
For the record: I was NOT "up in arms" about this..I'm just wondering if cooler heads prevailed....
Thanks.
I have 27, and don't think I'll get 40 before the end of the year. I'm willing to buy what I need for $5 each, or sell mine (or a portion of) for $5 each; hopefully nobody will end up having useless ticket vouchers on December 31. Any takers for a swap PM me. Thanks.

Anyone catch this piece yet? Pretty interesting. I've only been to 3 of the top 10 most dangerous airports in the world. I don't see what is so dangerous about St. Maarten; as a pilot, I don't care if people are hanging off the fenceline while I'm adding takeoff power. Also, not sure why...
I've said before in this forum and I'll say it again....the media and all of it's associates are nothing but liars. I have a family member in the media who's been lying through her teeth since she was 5 years old. trust me, I know a liar when I see one.
Is the flight crews luggage included in the Basic Operating Weight of an aircraft? Someone recently told me it is, but I have a few doubts. I know the crew members are, as are standard operating items and oils, and fluids, and unusable fuel, etc. Never heard this one before. Anyone want to...
CNN reporting that a controller in JFK let his child clear airplanes for takeoff a couple of weeks ago. It is clearly a youngster's voice on the tapes; even remarking about "bring your child to work day". As long as traffic was light, and good VFR weather, and the controller was watching and...
I had a situation a few years ago in which ATC accused me of doing something I did not do. Defending myself on the radio didn't work, and I took a lot of heat for it (both on the radio and here at this forum). Calling the controllers supervisor upon landing cleared the air. I still wanted to...
Somebody once told me that there was a big demand for Falcon guys to fly overseas. If you needed a job, and could be away from home for a month or two, it sounded pretty good. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks in advance.
Some years ago I saw some grusome pictures of a poor Netjets pilot who got a static wick in his eye. They were, to say the least, pretty chilling pictures.
Recently someone told me that this man turned out to be OK. Can anyone confirm/deny this? I hope he was OK...hate to see something like...
Like everyone else, I want my wife and little girl to be "OK" if/when I go. I have a small policy that was set up when I was a kid, but now that I'm a responsible adult with a dependant...
Suggestions welcome, and thanks for the help.
Captain 4242
Anybody watch this show? Animal Planet Channel, Friday nights at 9 EST? How the heck does this Captain, Paul Watson, not lose his Maritime Certificate???? He intentionally rammed another ship. I'm sympathetic to his cause, but Jeez. C'mon, fella.
Don't try anyting like that with your...
Heard this on the radio a few weeks ago:
A pilot at upper altitudes declares a medical emergency, and requests to land a nearest suitable field. ATC explains that such-and-such airport is closest, and to expect vectors. After the first vector, ATC says to expect lower altitude once clearing...
Our company recently started flying aircraft with APU's.
I'm wondering what other pilots do while using the APU...is one pilot required to stay with the aircraft? Or is it acceptable to leave the plane alone for a period of time while in the FBO? Then, how long is too long?
Thanks
