    headset for SUPT

Hell no. Especially since SOFA status personnel (TDY or permanent party) are banned from at least three places on Gate 2 street. That place isn't my bag anyway. I'm guessing you were associated with the 82nd? I'm loving those due regard O9E sorties. A matter of fact, you Offut guy just...

    headset for SUPT

Hey Tony! How long ago were you out here? My apartment is a short spit away from Ghengis Khan near the sea wall, enough to smell the BBQ in my living room at night. You forgot Yoshi's and Kitakisen if you're into sushi, or were you before those places' time?

Total shot in the dark, but I'm sure it's lead lanthanum zirconate titanate. Non-SIOP units don't have to worry about PLZT goggles, etc.

    headset for SUPT

They'll issue you a david clark headset if you go T-1's. But you'll still hang on to your helmet if you go KC-135's, and I think the same for C-130 and C-17's. Although you'll rarely wear it. Side note: A few of us here in pacific-land just got issued the Bose $995.00 ANR headset to test...

    Reserve KC-135 question

Like JayDub said, it depends on a lot of things as far as how long it will take to upgrade. FACT: PACAF requires 1000 hours total time (including stud hours) and AMC requires 800 before sending you off to Altus. Not sure about USAFE or reserve/guard. Now, how you get the required hours is a...

Why no reversers on the KC-135?

KC-135 Family Tree The origin and development of the KC-135 we interwoven with that of the 707. Around 1940/1950 Boeing had begun work on a new commercial jet transport which was a variation to the Model 367 (C-97/KC-97 to the military, Boeing 377 to the airlines), During 1951 Boeing proposed...

Why no reversers on the KC-135?

You're right. The Stratotanker (i.e., the #1 tanker in the world) isn't successful at all. /sarcasm

Why no reversers on the KC-135?

The T-1 wasn't all that successful being off the shelf. They found a HUGE gear problem that grounded the fleet for better than a month (rainman, you'll remember that). They found that the gear was good for a cycle or two every hour, not the 10 or so cycles that we were putting it though...

Vance 03-10 or Brooks 13 May?

Anyone heading out to Vance for JSUPT 03-10 or going to brooks for MFS on 13 May?

More about logging time at UPT

I've read that you can log your flying time at UPT in a civilian logbook if you are AMEL rated. But since you're flying a turbine engine, wouldn't you need a type certificate for the aircraft as well?
