If you mean the windbreaker jacket, it is company supplied through our shirt vendor, Banana Republic. May be an off the rack BR jacket with the wing grommets added. Don't know, I don't go in that store. If you order online be advised they are cut small, go up a size unless you are a bean pole...
We have a pretty fair system at Virgin America. FCFS for the first seat, senior pilot at door close for the second seat. We can also take a cabin js if available to help get an OAL on up front. OAL pilots are FCFS.
More than a few years back, like in our first year of operation. Many things have changed here, it's been entertaining watching our management slowly realize that other airlines have pretty well figured out best practices before we started.
During my first furlough I did roofing and pool decks in Tampa. Never worked so hard for so little in my whole life. Great motivation to go out any find any flying gig to restart the dream.
If a simpleton like me can make it to senior captain at a lcc, you can do better. Hang in there and fly safe.
Virgin America pays for in base parking, or gives $75 per month to offset commuter parking. You can sign up for either plan, (but not both) no receipts required.
Flight was was in 2012. Nobody got in trouble. Have you ever flown the visual approaches into the 28s in SFO? We do this all the time, as well as side by side takeoffs on the 1s. Look at the airport layout to understand why.
Interesting factoid about the Gulfstream birds, at least up to the new G650:
The fuel system is essentially one big tank with a baffle at the keel separating it into left & right tanks. As a result there is no way to hold fuel out in the wings making the max zero fuel weight very low. The G450...
Well Wave, I wouldn't call it "devaluing employees" either, but I do wish we would change the rule. I am glad you got lucky a few times. If you ever want a ride we will take good care of you. Cheers.
Howard: We have noticed that WN is very disciplined in it's competition. I am sure you will...
No arguement from me on this one Wave. But have you non revved on UAL anytime in the last decade? Ages ago their FC was exclusively paid FC and non revs, now they have a system of rewarding their mileage plus members and the upgrade list on the gate boards is usually 3 or 4 times the capacity of...
I think you are right on the UAL plan. They have been quiet about their DAL plans so far and are certainly capable of irrational action. Good thing they only have 2 gates, so they can't start a scortched earth go everywhere 12 times a day on top of VX and WN.
As to a fare war, maybe, but in...
No non revs in FC. It's been that way since the start. We will upgrade the top frequent flyers to FC in order to get non revs on in coach. 2 JS in front on all birds. All are welcome, just show at the gate and fill out the form. After company pilots it is first come, first served for all others...
No. With the current Wright restrictions there are no markets meeting VX's market criteria, and AA had already leased their gates to DL. Only with our LGA/DCA slots and the lessening of the Wright restrictions does DAL make a viable plan for us.
Past history of the airport is meaningless as...
Scoreboard, I'm going to have to invoke the George Carlin defense on you: "Never argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience".
I don't see any war, civil disturbance, strike or act of god in this case.
Have fun in your world.
Yes, the city owns the gates at DAL. They also lease them out in what are called lease agreements. These agreements have duties and rights of the lessors and lessees written in them. When there are changes in circumstances, the parties are obligated to honor the terms they agreed to in the...
