Apparently you need an internal rec to get the ball rolling. They have well over 10,000 apps currently on file, so they're very selective. Good luck though, just keep updating. Snail mail couldn't hurt I guess, but you do need an internal rec to have a good chance (I've been told).
If you log into your JetBlue application you'll see some fine print at the top in grey letters, maybe this would explain what you're seeing:
"Thank you for your interest in opportunities at JetBlue Airways. As we receive a high volume of online applications, you will no longer be able to view...
Isn't CommutAir already at the bottom! How can they even take a pay cut?! ...These guys are getting screwed. Just look at their 5 year FO pay progression:
$21, $22, $23, $24, $25
(for perspective, typical regional pay for flying Dash 8's looks something like this: $27, $31, $33, $34...
Maybe the big names like UND or ERAU have slipped since they've been trying to just pump out crj pilots, but the aviation degree is by no means worthless, especially if it came from a school that seemed to produce a more well-rounded pilot, like some of the small colleges that have great...
not anymore, they reposted the job listing and removed the part about preferential hiring, curiously. In its place they say we offer a "benefits package"...damn, I'd hope health benefits would go without saying :-/
we as pilots are probablly going through airport security more times in 1 month than these tsa agents will in their whole life...The machines are not 100% safe (according to many in the scientific community). I read that letter going around the news networks from those University of California...
uhhhhhhhhh, no...

...I know correcting such a thing is a bit of a waste of time, but seriously
Do you think it would be very plausible to leave the regionals with a few thousand hours and then come back a couple years later, without your currency?
So, have any of you who've left the regionals tried grad school or anything like that (or anyone who's stayed in the regionals for that matter)? I bet it wouldn't be such a bad idea to get a Masters and have it to fall back on to teach at a college with it
For those who said screw this and jumped ship from their regional and are now working at a different job other than another airline/135, just a couple questions (specifically those of you who were like me and only have a BS in Aviation):
1)Where are you working now? (I'm having a hard time...
The "ask pdt" today said:
Q. If, hypothetically, we added more aircraft to our fleet to, perhaps, fly out west...how would we be able to do this? I thought we couldn't even hold onto the planes we had because we couldn't renew the leases. Where would the money come from?A. If we were to do...
well i understand the "part time" part, and the "business" part...but "rental" could mean a lot of different things to me. I was just trying to figure out if your bunsiness was renting cars, trucks, kayaks, jetskis, apartments, painball guns, etc ??? If you put in "part time rental business"...
