Yes, it is closed. Chief pilot says that they have enough bodies to fill classes thru the end of the year. there was no indication when the window will open again.
So far one a month. I believe the January and February classes were 15 or less.m I've heard the March class will be bigger...I'll let you know in a couple weeks!
It's not nesccesarily a first in, first out pool. It seems that they like pilots that have oceanic time, time in heavies or a type in the MD-11 to got to ANC right away. This could allow them to pull from the pool out of "seniority order".
Not to sure how deep the pool is. I was conditionally offered in August and I beleive that the 3 others hired with me were pretty close to being the last interviewees for the year. As a poolie, you have the option to pass on a foreign domicile with the penalty of not getting a seniority...
Don't know if these guy's have already been posted but I use:

They have a couple of different fabrics available in taper. Don't know about long tho...
If I had to do it over again, I'd get the PNT without the pouch. It does take up more space, and the laptop is positioned so it is sandwiched between your flight kit and clothes. I guess it's not to big a deal if you don't "jump" your bag of curbs. Also, if you commute and you have to put...
...and a half which will creat a small hicup for newhires. As I understand we are supposed to hire fairly aggresivley for the next 6ish months or so.

Any other QOL comments would be appreciated...

I think...
Just returned from RCGS. Latest word from ATW is another class in December and the 30/month begining in January until we're back up to decent staffing levels. The hang up right now is SIM time. The DEN sim is in transition to CLT which is bottle necking the upgrades and new hires.
We have 2 hour call out at Air Whiskey for regualr reserve. Scheduling will assign you reserve times the night before if you are on regular reserve. We also have long call reserve on relief lines only. That is a 48 hour call out I believe. i.e. call Monday for any assignments for Wednesday...
That's exactly what I thought. I found the copy of the TA they distributed during the voting process. I would quote it exactly but I left it in my flight kit in ORD but it was something to the effect of.....The TA will become effective the first day of the month unless an agreement with United...
