    ExpressJet Merges with ASA

Most desks have been creeping upward at ASA. We are anywhere between 55 and 75 depending on days, shifts, extra desks, sick calls, etc. We average 65 I'd say. We've lost several through attrition but just had a class of three come onto the floor and that has helped some. We hear that you...

    ExpressJet Merges with ASA

I don't see a thread so I'll start one. I'm looking forward to meeting and working with all the folks from ExpressJet in about year or so.

    Skywest earning call notes

I hope that all labor parties involved will seek a fair and reasonable way to integrate so that we can all be one big happy family but it looks like the ExpressJet Flight Attendants are marking their territory already...

An update on the future....in the year 3000 as Conan would perform

We've had plenty of folks make the jump to national/major carriers from ASA. We just had one guy leave last week to go to Delta for a notam desk. In the past five years we have had two guys go to United, two guys go to Delta (not counting one that went to Delta via Airtran). Two that went to...

    The future outlook?

If I was 28 I would look into being and air traffic controller. The cut off is 30 y/o and the FAA has better pay and benefits than a regional. My take on getting on at a major is that you/we will have to wait out the mergers and then expect a round of early retirements followed by some...

    Information about Delta Dispatch...

Exactly correct! I had an interview two January's ago. I didn't make the cut but DL hired one our duty managers and another was a line dispatcher who had an extremely good resume (degree in aviation management (I think), an instrument rating, was a red coat/manager on the gate for over five...

    Whiners - Part 2

I don't think that you will find a single dispatcher on this board that wouldn't give you any amount of fuel you requested but how much fuel is just cuz exactly? Define that for me. Is it a percent over mission fuel or is it enough for a specific amount of time? How many different...

    Whiners - Part 2

The Russian asked earlier: "When is the last time you refused an A/C?" At least once a day as a matter of fact. Russian, do you have any idea how many knock down drag out fights have occurred between a dispatcher and management before your butt was even out of the bed because some manager...

    Question for ASA dispatchers

MM was indeed in the ASA OCC on Wednesday afternoon/evening! Something may be up, but things are currently as stated above as far as leadership is concerned. For the moment.

    Question for ASA dispatchers

M.O. is presently a duty manager of OCC.

    Question for ASA dispatchers

ASA is currently in a duel General Manager of OCC configuration. The general manager of scheduling and crew planning (originally from Delta) has moved laterally to a general manager of OCC position. A SkyWest person has taken over as GM of scheduling and crew planning with a former Delta...

    New Pinnacle DX Contract

Thanks....I thought that sounded too good to be true.

    New Pinnacle DX Contract

Is the 5th year dispatch pay listed on WDFF accurate at $21.47? That's pretty impressive relative to other regionals!

    ASA Dispatcher Here

The FAA wasn't happy with our success in contacting flights ground to air after they conducted an observation/check (watched over our shoulders in OCC) last month. The result is that your dispatcher might try to contact you during the flight for a "com check".
