So, what is your point?
You say you know it is the Feds that won't open up the freighter jumpseats, but you still think they should be banned from jumpseating? I don't get it. Actually FedEx and UPS mainly jump on thier own airplanes, they actually have a better network to get around on than...
Nothing new...
Like was said, a lot of businesses out there send letters trying to get people to switch companies and explain why they are the best. Even in the frax it has been going on for a while. I know of a couple of companies that regularly search aircraft registrations of other frax...
YES
You can enroll in a 141 course, and it is usually an instrument and commercial course combined. The catch is that you will have to complete the whole couse, which is 160 hours or so. So if you already have a bunch of hours towards the part 61 minimums of 250 then you are probably better...
Mee too Diesel,
That is how I heard it explained too Diesel. I was told it was due to the inexperience in Gulfstream or comparable aircraft of the EJA pilots that made gulfstream require making EJI. The EJA union would not allow hiring new Captains into the Gulfstream so they had to do it...
9-11 or not...
Myself, along with MANY other pilots applied pre 9-11 to EJA because we could see the success it was seeing, and it sounded like a great place to work. When I interviewed there were many high time pilots there because they wanted to be, not just because they needed a job. It is...
Cost of Bennies
Not a huge issue in the middle of all the compensation discussion here but a new tidbit about the bennies at EJA. New hires at EJA are given the option of a company paid insurance plan now, separate from the union. That is all covered by the company, no deductions from the...
flight benefits
Flight benefits are actually great, you can rack up a bunch of miles being airlined from your gateway and back 3 times a month. You also get a lot of hotel points which can even be used toward airline miles or free hotel stays. It all comes out to free vacations (positive...
Grub
Anytime you are going to operate over a meal time then you are provided a crew meal by eja, you can even order what you want and hope you get it. The best food though is what is left over after the trip because the pax didn't touch it. There is always plenty to go around, and to...
flex question
When you work the flex sched, do you get to pick your 4 Hard days off, or are they assigned? Just wonder if that would be helpful come holidays if you wanted them off. You could just do flex the last quarter and get Christmas, Thanksgiving etc off couldn't you?? Thanks!
More Congrats!
Congrats on the call, that is great! I got the call back in November and I start this coming Monday. So I too can (almost) say welcome aboard. See you on the line!!
Glad to hear
Thanks for the post Gump! Good to hear as I am joining you at EJA later this month. You really expressed the way I am hoping to feel with the new job. I am mostly glad that there will be NO MORE COMMUTING!
One more thing..
Forgot to post this too, some of the latest interview reports can be seen at:
www.aviationinterview.com
I think they had some specifically from STL last I checked.
Interview Length
I interviewed Nov 12th in HOB. Some of the interviews, including mine, were completed on the first day. It all depends on when you are scheduled for the sim. I did the interview first with the two capts in the morning, then flew the sim late in the afternoon. I was done by...
Looking for anyone who has recently completed indoc at EJA to tell me how long it lasts; hours per day and how many days? When does it finish up? I have heard estimates but no hard schedule yet. If you start on monday does it end the following Friday? Morning or Evening? Just trying to get...
My Wait time
I interviewed 11/12 and 11/13. Waited four weeks and called them on Dec 10th and received the offer. Some who interviewed the same time got called as early as a week after interviewing. I don't know what determines when you get called. I think the guy that got called quickly...
I am starting indoc at EJA in mid Feb. and GS / SIM mid March. I am wondering if anyone knows their policy on your resignation from the previous job. I am hoping to use some vacation and such before leaving and also putting off my resignation until the end of Feb (2 weeks after starting indoc)...
Anyone have any recommendations for hotels to stay at during indoc in CMH for EJA? I have the list from EJA, but I haven't checked all the rates yet. Which is cheaper? Do any of them have transport to and from the training center? Or is a rental car a must for the time you are there? I know...
