Reportedly tried to exit at E off of 24R at 70kts.
I'm in there all the time both in the front and back...commute there part time. I always get a kick out of people who land 24R and light up the brakes and reversers to exit at E when idle reverse and minimal braking gets you to a decent speed...
I hear your pain, Wrigley! I had about 11 months in the Left Seat at Comair for a whopping almost 400TPIC. I'm glad to have upgraded to get the type and PIC, but the downgrade sure shot my chances at all these places that demand 1000TPIC regardless if you have a bazillion SIC 121 Jet!! I'm...
I've seen video of a system used to mitigate the smoke/visibility situation. It's a clear plastic bag that inflates between the pilot and the instrument panel & windshield that provides a smoke-free line-of-sight. Having been in submarine fire trainers...enclosed spaces like an airliner...I...
Not sure if names have been officially released, so I won't name him here, yet. The FO lived in Sanford, FL, leaving behind his wife and young daughter. He was a USMC Veteran, and is an alumni of Comair Aviation Academy & Chautauqua. His FB friends are mostly all in the know of the situation...
Good luck in JFK! Enjoy the delays, EDCT's, holding, and gawd-awful old-a$$ terminals and facilities. Only thing I'll miss is the easy commute up from FL. Comair made the best of it and we did fairly well considering Delta's good old slot-swap program keeping us grounded sometimes. Makes for...
Is this sarcasm or something heard on the grapevine? Not too far flung from the reports I've heard from the recent DAL/DCI ALPA MEC get-togethers, though I thought Compass & Mesaba would've been in the 'grand staple,' too.
Isn't it just pathetic that the 'powers that be' think we're more dangerous commuting in the back, un-screened, rather than operating the controls up-front, screened or not? Purely a dog-and-pony show. A waste of resources and definitely a PITA!!
And still having problems with the Kiosk not finding the res when keying in the record locator. Really sucks when running for a flight! Difficulties aside....still VERY appreciative of the ride! CAs have always come up about 10-15 prior to make sure we're getting on.
Well Dang! The music just stopped over at Air Canada if you want to cross into the US. It used to be free to j/s over there, and now it's like $53 out of YUL!! It's sad to see you can get a cheaper LCC fare than what the stupid taxes and security fees add up to. Nice job of the various...
Nothing like cruising along and getting a Center broadcast telling crews to be vigilant because a passenger tried lighting his shoes on fire! I hope judicious "passenger/crew justice" was liberally applied during the incident!! Let the crew do a little coffee pot waterboarding since our...
Sadly, we have Clownair pilots picking up EF, too. They justify it by saying they're saving someone from being junior-manned. I guess they don't realize the union tracks JM events to use the stats against the company when it comes to negotiations or recalls. Sad....
Sure would be nice to web-list on each other's j/s or nonrev systems and be validated by a quick look at the passport/ID at the gate....I know...wishful thinking!
Anyway, the best thing to help cut down wait times (avg 23 min or so for me) on hold is to have your "profile number" handy when...
