Need help in New Orleans - PLEASE HELP!!! PLEASE VIEW!!!!!

I have found his house on the NOAA website, but it is hard to judge the height of the water. It is rediculous that the government has yet to take over this role. The Red Cross is a great organization, so are all the other ones attempting to help, but the military is the only one with the...

I am looking for anyone in New Orleans. Coast Guard pilot, or perhaps Guard that can help locate a missing uncle. Thank you to all those who assist. His name is Joseph Abrams, he goes by Jack. He lives in a 2 story house on the corner of Grape St. and State Street Dr. (4211 State Street Dr)...

    Non-RVSM Coordination?

If you can't make at least 410, you're in everyones way. Not to say you won't get there. Most of it has to do with the individual working the sectors. If I am working the high stratum and someone requests neg-RVSM, I call the UHi sector and ask if he will work him. It is strictly a judgment...

    Katrina update

They all have flood insurance. I am not sure how it works with FEMA and all, but we are trying to figure it all out. The homes are on the East Bayou off Bayou Lacroix north of Bay St. Louis / Waveland. If anyone flies that way please let us now what to expect. This is on or near the GPT255020.

    Katrina update

I will pass this along for anyone with family and friends in the Mississippi Gulf Coast and East Louisiana. My family all lives in or around Bay St. Louis, MS. Every one left but my dad who stayed to watch the houses and investments. Late Sunday night, the storm was too close and too bad to...

    Cirrus SR 22 Doors

How else are people supposed to know you spent 450 k on a new airplane instead of 250 k on a used one. BTW, its no bigger or faster than an 80 k 182t.

    Question for ATC about weather

radar contact = hey there, I see you cleared to... = i now care that i can see you cause whatever happens will be my fault. This assumes we are talking about a pick up clearance with a center off an uncontrolled field or something. You can't go IFR just cause you are radar contact, need to...

    Which would you rather?

Most people subscribe to the theory of get them all pointed in the same direction, then use speed. It negates the wind and gives a better idea of speed difference; therefore how much spacing you will have in 2 minutes, 3 minutes....

    Which would you rather?

Move up or down 2 FL's? (Rides are the same) Turn 15 degrees off course for 1-1.5 minutes? (WX not a factor) Money is on the line.

    Question for ATC about weather

If I were running the bubble and someone started deviating without asking, say 1/2 mile, it would be a big deal. But most controllers won't run traffic real close if there is weather in the area because some pilots will just turn without asking. If I do run traffic tight in weather, I will...

How can airlines be losing money

How can the airlines be losing money? The folks up front probably only get paid 35-55k a piece. Flying the most efficient a/c in history. Passenger loads are high, and no services are provided (meals, pillows).

The NY Apprch Letters -FAA suspiciously fires 11 controllers during a staffing crisis

Its the timeline that makes it so obvious. These folks filed out the med forms in 01, 02, 03, and 04. All of the sudden its a BFD. In the middle of contract negotiations....

The NY Apprch Letters -FAA suspiciously fires 11 controllers during a staffing crisis

Thought I would post this to see what ya'll think. http://www.geocities.com/nevrfun/ The FAA is attempting to fire 11 controllers from one of the best and safest approach facilities in the world for 'lying' on their medicals. The linked letter was delivered to someone 15 months from...
