I understand . . .
I really do, but if I don't take the severance there's a good chance I will indeed be furloughed anyway. At least that way I could get out with a pittance out of them.
Thanks anyway.

Hi all,
CLT pilot here, career fo with Comair & would love to take advantage of their severance offer. Just wondering if anyone has ANY leads, intel on anything which may be available in the area, corp, nascar teams, 135, cargo, power line patrol even.
6000TT, 4000 turbine, 2200 PIC (mostly...
Wow!
Really? Where? I guess I've been out of the loop while being abused in abysmal regional industry.
This is a serious inquiry. I would jump on a stable instructing job at a reputable school paying that kind of money.
Thanks.
don't look back
mainiac,
IMHO you made the right move. All of the above is true. I was a solid line holder for over a year (fo) and now back on reserve. It's true that we are getting (fractionally) more flying each month, but the trips are so unproductive that it's still a BIG net loss in...
Thanks for your input but you are wrong on 2 accounts. It's not Mesa and some of the 1800 turbine is PIC in a BE-90 & 200. You know what they say about assumptions.
What the heck, here goes . . .
I'm currently with a regional, looking for decent corp or 135 in the CLT area.
ATP, 3800TT, 2200PIC, 1800 turbine, some King Air.
Former freight dog, good skills, mature, dependable.
Best of luck to all.
Son, apparently you don't have much life experience or work experience.
Unfortunately it's this attitude in too many hungry pilots that accounts for a lot of this mess. Congratulations on your great job.
That has also been my attitude since going to work for Comair, even on reserve, holidays, when I was getting hosed, etc., because that's just the job. Hell, I sat ready reserve on Christmas eve & Christmas Day last year in CVG, as a commuter, knowing full well that I would not be used, because...
Personally, I'm going to the franchise show here in CLT tomorrow. I think I'll go back to the real business world where you actually get paid commensurate with your abilities and effort.
I always thought I'd wind up flying aa out of the Navajo Res or somewhere else out west; it seems to fit me better than the airline thing.
I just wonder what that gig is like. Pay, lifestyle, work conditions? I imagine it varies from company to company?
(I know it's probably a step down from...
Yes, we do overnight there. It's the Best Western on White Horse Pike in Pleasantville. I've only overnighted there once, this month. I'm not familiar with the area so I couldn't comment on security concerns. The hotel itself is ok, fridge & MW in the rooms. You can take the bus down to the...
Hey man,
Good to run into you yesterday. I see from the JFK awards you're taking half our class witya. NY won't be the same after a certain Alabama boy gets done with it; or maybe he won't be the same after NY gets done with him!
I hope the JFK lines look better than the first GSO lines out...
