Just remember that as the negotiating for a contract continues to be dragged out, and if the East losses the Arb on snap back, than everyone losses.
The raise that you would of got in 2007/2008 can not be recouped in the future. Time value of money. The company is not going offer say 40%...
Ok guys if the phamplet upsets you that much throw it away. Its just another side of the story. What USAPA states is slanted toward their view, what AOL states is slanted toward their view. Now read and listen to both sides and make your own decison.
If you are so upset about a piece of...
Anyone can tell you that US Airways in 2003 and 2005 was not going out of business. At least that is what I have been told over and over again the last 4 years.
(My memory of the situation is completely different.)
The interview day at FSI is very friendly. I went thru the process a year ago and passed, but unforunately they did not hire much in that year.
I am seriously thinking of reapplying. Anybody know if they are hiring. Checked the website has an openining in England. Wondered if anything...
Who is to say what would of happened to US Airways and AWA if they did not merge. The card can not be played so its anybodies guess. No sense speculating.
If we could go back in time and change things than this would be important. I would love to change choices I made in the past, but...
Say yes and if there is a box to explain, explain. Otherwise move on. I have asked many carriers if a Warning letter is an administrative action and they all said "yes". The FAA issued a warning. I know several pilots, including myself, who have been hired by majors with a letter of warning...
There will be medical outs and guys that simply get tired and decide to leave. No it won't be in the 200 range, but it could be in the 50 or so range.
Some airlines have already seen this.
How many retire and how soon at some airline could end up depending on economic. There are a few carriers that are sitting on the edge of BK. So some age 65 could be forced to go earlier than they want it the economy does not improve.
For the furloughed pilots, and I am one, age 65 took away 3.5 years of earnings at the our respective carriers. Working an additional 5 years, can not replace these wages.
I am one of the lucky ones, I now have a secure job, making 50% less, but it will increase.
The baby boomers can cry...
The absolute only way management is going to stop the infomercials is to have frequent flyers complain and a large percentage of them. They will not listen to the casual traveler since they are looking for the cheapest flight.
Believe, I worked for Airways and I hate the infomericials. I...
Why does anyone give MCDU anything other than silence. This guy has claimed to be an East pilot, but when called to the table finally confusses is not.
Obviously, one of his relatives works for the East and he hears only the East version. He does not care about the West version. He did not...
MCDU:
Remember one thing, it your memory can handle it. (I know you hate the West.)
Negiotiations for the seniority list merger started in the Fall of 2005. NO, and I mean no one was recalled at that point. It would have been impossible to develop a list without picking a date in time and...
MCDU:
I understand this is a public board and you are entitled to your views.
First you have no first hand knowledge that the East will not vote for a contract witht the NIC, only speculation. Alot of people out West might not vote for the contract with the work rules suck and pay sucks...
Only time will tell if pilots will retire at 62, eventhough alot say they are. Its amazing how many were against the age 65 rule, supposedly, and now all that were against the age change are still working. Makes you go HMMMMMM.
All furloughs on both the East and West side were completed in May with the remaining 7 guys furloughed on the West side.
When will recalls commence. No really knows. Talk to the VP, he stated that if their is a contract and the company sticks with the West vacation part of the contract, the...
Just so everyone knows and understands.
Seniority is not on trial. Nor is the NIC award.
What is being tried is a DFR, duty of Fair Representation. Is USAPA fairly representing the West pilots on all issues.
This is what the juror will have to decide. Very narrow scope.
