I would highly doubt either of these coming true. There were over 300 pilots senior to me, 2000 hire, for any Captain seat and for the dtw 777 fo seat. So I would think this is fiction.
Here is a way to completely level the hiring playing field. You submit an application and your name, race and gender don't show up anywhere. You just get an application number. So your background and training file stands on it's own.
Now to completely level the field....No letters of rec...
You need to narrow it down a little more. What part of South Florida? SW Florida you are not only fighting other pilots but the FA's going to work. South Florida (MIA, FLL, PBI) your not fighting the FA's as much since we still have FA bases down there. The good thing about Florida is that...
I had a Captain complaining about the DFW to ATL commute and how our FA's, Delta, have the jumpseat booked and run over to American and list on their flight. I told him that we, meaning pilots, have a higher priority at American so a Delta FA can't bump you from a flight. He said the American...
I hate lawyers and I wouldn' t personally sue but I wasn't the FO called on the carpet because 3 FA's thought they knew the job better than I did.
How many of you really think that the FO would take the aircraft off in a dangerous condition? Remember we are the first ones to arrive at the...
TK,
You of all people should realize that the company is not worried about losing those 6 seats. Let's take a look at the history of our furlough here at Delta. We had a cap of 75 hours while people were on furlough. A little negotiation with DALPA and that problem was fixed. Need a recall...
You got an outsiders perspective. Actually you got three outsiders perspectives. They were called arbitrators. They didn't have a dog in the race and came up with what they, from a neutral point, called a fair list. It must be fair because no one is jumping for joy on this side of the fence...
So donaldd, were you hired in the 2000-2001 timeframe? We have some pilots here, due to the different hiring cycles at the premerger companies, not only lose about 2% of relative seniority but also get mergered with people hired at your company 4 years after they were hired at Delta. These...
Not saying this is what happened but I could see it going down like this. Three flight attendants show up at the gate and two are dressed in business casual, the required dress, and happen to look sexy. The third flight attendant shows up and is in blue jeans and tennis shoes and is denied...
That's funny because I had the reverse happen to me in PHX while waiting for the hotel van. A320 crew, the Captain was a former Republic guy. How do I know? The Captain actually talked back to us while the FO grunted something and stormed off. It was explained he was a little less than happy...
Well my voluntary displacement bid was not triggered. Here are some how some of the categories came out by most junior pilot being able to hold it.
ATL 767-400...Nov 99
ATL 7ER...Jun 07
ATL 767 Domestic...Jun 07
NYC 7ER...Feb 08
LAX 767 Domestic...Jan 08
SLC 767 Domestic...Oct 07
Still not...
How the heck did you get stuck on the 88 NYC as a 2000 hire? You may have some troubles now getting off of it. Even the NYC 7ER went so senior on the last bid that I couldn't hold it as an August 2000 hire. They are displacing in my category 767 B ATL so I've got a voluntary displacement in...
