urflyingme?! said:I'm guessing Mesa through some BS program? You should be VERY proud. How else does someone have their "first interview" and get a regional job. What a crock. Don't forget to start a website, blog, etc. so we can keep up with your "career."
What's BS about it? Is it the fact that they have placed over a thousand pilots into the same regional airline with an attrition rate 3x better than hires off the street while in GS, or is it the fact that people who spent 4 years at an aviation university will have to instruct for 2 more years before they get their interviews( i had 3 embry riddle guys in my class)
urflyingme?! said:Wow for people calling me an idiot, some of you don't make much sense...
I don't remember saying anything about my wages. I didn't say anything about San Juan, but since it was brought up, it did EXACTLY what they told me it would( I DO have a job don't I?). Now I know this might sound strange but I didn't negotiate any pay rates for any airlines, and I'm sure that San Juan College hasn't produced enough pilots to completely drown then entire aviation community with sadist pilots asking for the minimum possible compensation to the point of ruining the profession. I'm not sure how accepting a job at a regional which doesn't pay very well, but is better than some(not many) is morally wrong. And finally, if I slugged it out flying night freight and instructing would I still be a bastard for accepting the job at a regional? Will the pay suddenly increase with my secret night freight handshake? (I'm not doubting that it produces solid pilots, or that I'm willing to do that.) Are all regional pilots a disgrace to America, Lindberg Apple Pie and Baseball or is it just low time Mesa guys who haven't crossed a picket line or signed on at Freedom or PFT'd?
If you're looking for guys supporting MESA go to Mesalounge. It's really quite upsetting frankly that some people can't accept the fact that someone is excited about getting a job at the end of their college courses. But then again this is flightinfo and you guys are probably tired from a long day of complaining about your lives in person with your flightcrew and are probably sleepy.... I'm finished arguing about this anyway

Indy refugee said:So what's next for you guys at Mesa. I suspect you'll set your sights on AirWis, as you already did once, or Comair. Maybe you can steal their flying, too. But both of those groups have proven they're unwilling to work for Mesa wages. Since they won't win the battle to be the lowest bidder, you'll probably destroy them, too.
Most Indy pilots, including myself, have moved on to bigger and better jobs. I think I volunteer for the pilot interview board. Maybe I'll see you there. You won't get the job. We'll never tell you this, but between the SJU, MAPD and Mesa, we'll find a reason to just say no, one more time.
So, still feel this way? Couldn't take it at Mesa?I'm not sure how accepting a job at a regional which doesn't pay very well, but is better than some(not many) is morally wrong.
If it is Mesa, slip them a 50 spot and you are in .Yes it's true, I will interview tommorrow at a regional tommorrow.
