Have you guys heard about an American pilot named [Moderator Edit]? Not sure which year but he once signed a formal contract plus training bond with a Chinese operator. And right after attending the GV initial training which is paid by the operator, this guy cut the phone and vanished the day he landed America during a flight duty from China to America assigned by the operator without noticing anybody of that company. He just disappeared into thin air so to speak. The Chinese operator got pissed and tried everything to locate that guy but failed. They tried to sue him but of course had no response without knowing his location. All their money for the training and recruitment and everything went into waste and this Jeff earned himself a free GV type rating.

Lately there’s hearsay that he is still active in Asia area and even got recruited and continue his flying career in Hong Kong. Hard to believe that someone is willing to recruit this untrustworthy and self-centered pilot who illegally broke the contract and did not give a thing to the lawsuits. Seriously, this guy doesn’t even have the fundamental principles or legal consciousness, not to mention if he is qualified as a pilot at all. Client always comes first in the corporate aviation and for sure in his eyes there’s no client, no company, but himself. If I’m the recruit guy, I’ll be crazy to trust him with the Clients’ confidential info or to expect him to provide any high-quality service to the VVIPs. It was really eye-opening when I first know this…

Still haven't heard about it...

Ain't right but why are you so worked up about it...

Sounds like his moral character isn't any worse than the corrupt oligarchs who exhibit nothing but contempt for patent and intellectual property rights in the People's Republic of Crap.

Am I somehow supposed to feel sorry for the shysters who probably had no intention of paying what they had promised when he signed up for the training?

I don't know the dude but I know a lot of guys who have been screwed by employers the like of which you describe...

You every try to sue one of those oligarchs for breach of contract in the PRC? Oh, how about trying to extradite one to get him tried in a court that actually respects the law?

:ROFLMAO:

It isn't going to happen! Those frackers suffer the delusion that they are the law and no one else matters!

Yeah, there are two sides to every story and as a pilot who knows many folks who have been trapped by devious and unscrupulous employers who need expats because they lack a supply of native pilots they can frack over with extreme prejudice I find your version of the "truth" questionable at best.

I had a “ post biography “ phone interview with API yesterday and I was informed of a Fed Ex new hire that went all the way through type training on the MD-11 and did receive his type rating, then resigned. Very strange.

What's a post biography phone interview ? And who is API...Aviation Personnel Inc ?

After one completes an application they request a biography. Then they conduct a short phone interview. They are an aviation recruiter.

Interesting that the OP signed up for this site and has made only one post. The only post being on the day he signed. He speaks less than perfect english and seems oddly worked up about a pilot that screwed over a foreign company. The intent of his one post seems to be for the purpose of gaining info on the missing pilot.

I'm wondering if op is affiliated with the company in question.
