Ritch people like to play with airplanes. History shows they soon tire though and move the money elsewhere.

I suppose a smart businessman will not keep pumping money into a venture that isn't going to work. At that point, they "...move the money elsewhere.".

Airlines exist for the same, and only, reason every other business exists: make money. Sometimes we Little People benefit; sometimes (maybe even frequently) we don't.

But, you can't win if you don't enter. I guess that's why some of them keep trying ?

Roland King and Herb Kelleher, for example, were some rich guys who played with airplanes. A bunch of Little People seem to have benefited.

It's at least entertaining to watch these things evolve...maybe even wish them well ? :D

Yeah, Indy Air evolved from a Regional and got their arse kicked by everyone else, including SWA. That was fun to watch. VA survived because they filled a niche at the time of their inception, comfortable transcon flights at cheaper prices than the Legacies. What will the new Eastern bring that JB, Spirit, SWA, and the Legacies don't? I think the Indy Air response may happen again.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Eastern resurrected?!

Pan Am next?!

Next thing you know, some airline will call themselves "Endeavor Air"..after the fictitious airline in the Mel Gibson movie "Ransom". ;)

Not limited to airlines I suppose; how many reiterations of "teenage mutant ninja turtles" or "transformers" must we endure?! I guess the present entitlement generation is satisfied with simply ripping off the ideas of previous generations.

This might be different than Indy air. When they started with 50 seat rj's, oil went up drastically. At least this time, oil is going down drastically.
