Delta - "Galactically stupid on fuel hedging!"

http://fortune.com/2014/06/02/secret-club-kate-kelly/

"Delta earlier in October, the carrier indicated that it will incur another $350 million in special charges in the third quarter due to a negative impact from fuel hedge settlements."

http://www.forbes.com/sites/greatspe...g-performance/

One-time items for Delta Airlines - Bad fuel hedges costs DAL 1/3 of a billion dollars in the 3rd quarter on 2014.

When fuel costs drop, Delta Airlines and United Airlines lose millions!!! AAG does NOT hedge.

I guess that's why it's called a hedge, and not a sure thing.

WOW, you are the all knowing...As for your previous posts of ongoing negotiations and your optimism as to the outcome, you must have an influential position with APA as a sub-USAirways guy. Negotiations, as you know it, may be a little different with a mediator at the table who acts more as an arbitrator. But as for your assertions as to HUGE growth at AAG, hedging strategies and knowlege of what the new contract will look like are definitely entertaining....

I am glad to be your muse. Do a little research and then get back to us with some beneficial information. Regardless of my path to AA, I have given much information relevant to a prospective pilot who aspires to make it to one of the big 3. You, on the the other hand...not so much. By the way, there are 3 arbitrators who will determine the SLI and not one as you've stated. Get your facts straight and you might gain some credibility.

I never mentioned the SLI! The mediator I refered to may be the one who sits at the negotiating table. That mediator will act more as an arbitrator in negotiations with the largest airline in the world with no chance of release for the APA.... So you may want to keep those expectations at bay. The UAL contract was valued more than the DAL contract in the eyes of the mediator.......we all know how that worked out... But you have it all figured out...good luck Nostradamus..

I am not French nor do I make prophetic predictions. Furthermore, I have never predicted major world events, nor was I born in 1503 or there abouts.

What I do provide is concrete information for aspiring professional pilots who seek to gain employment at one of the 3 legacy airlines. You provide what? Derogitory comments and call people scabs - nice. Okay, I see the benefit of your posts as distracting comments from a frustrated United pilot who adds nothing to the conversation.

I'm not frustrated at all, I call a spade a spade. An ex USAPA member questioning the credibility of someone is definitely comical though...BTW, your concrete information is speculative...

Still you provide nothing of value or substance to an aspiring pilot researching what legacy to marry. American should be the 1st choice for any pilot looking to call home for the rest of their life.

I'm not here to blow smoke up aspiring pilots tail pipes, speculative info does them no good. As for AAG being the #1 choice, the jury is still out. You have a LONG way to go to full integration and the SLI will make the UAL/CAL SLI look like a cake walk..

Long way to go? Wrong. The SLI will be complete December of 2015 and the SOC complete by April 2015. Cake - what kind? I want some. Mmmmm
