Looks like something is leaking out there.

yeah because you can see the top of the wing on the 757 walking around it
Am I supposed to be able to see the future? The report states the panel came off in flight, not that it was missing before the flight departed. Do I buy a crystal ball? Perhaps a Ouija Board should replace the flashlight on the walk around!?!?As professionals, we have to take safety seriously. From the mechanics who look like they probably lacked attention to detail to the pilot that missed this on the walk around. It seems like a corporate culture of not making safety a priority.

Agreed, unless I'm going to begin using non destructive testing equipment on each walk around, I'm going to miss this every time. How does this radiography testing equipment work again and more importantly how am I going to fit it in my flight bag?I personally pop the hatches and walk out on both wings during my walk around. I strap a seat cushion to my butt in case I fall off the wing.
Do you routinely check this area during your preflight?
What could you possibly see with a wing inspection light illuminated? Are you implying there was a section rolled back like a sardine can or something? How much effort does it take to flip on a wing inspection light and walk to the over wing? I guess it matters how much you care. Maybe the amount you care is in directly proportional to your compensation.
I guess there's no windows in the over wing section? Come on guys. Put a little effort into it. Take I seriously.

Then proportionately, the DL pilots the best compensated in the industry. How much effort does it take to flip on a wing inspection light and walk to the over wing? I guess it matters how much you care. Maybe the amount you care is in directly proportional to your compensation.
If it wasn't there before the flight, I have a feeling that numerous passengers would have noticed and said something.
Last Europe trip I flew, the 2 7ER FO's put together made more than that last year. Your anti DAL dooshbaggery here is long documented, but at least try to get your facts even close to accurate. K?Delta guys still make significantly less than a SWA guy. I've heard of SWA captains making $400k/year. The highest paid Delta pilot and copilot put together don't make that much.

Unbelievable that in this day and age some of you can still get your chain yanked by a veteran FI troll.
SMcC, to answer your question, yes I do. It takes a couple seconds and isn't a big deal.
