A day of testing. Great. I guess its time to open up my CFI books again as I think these very insightful HR and Flight Ops people manning the entrance door to their pilot group really want to make sure someone flying for 10-15 years safely at a regional knows Bernoulli's Principle, Aeronautics for naval aviators, and planning a descent on an arrival while figuring out if the plane you are flying will overtake the plane in front of you on that same arrival. Or maybe they should just bring some really big circus hoops into the interview and see just who will jump through the most because that is a better indication of who really wants the job the most. Or maybe just line up everyone and start doing some side straddle hops (jumping jacks for you non military people) and the last ones standing gets the job.

These threads can't go on without a Mesaba guy insulting a Pinnacle guy or visa versa. Eventually we won't have these little two minutes of hate sessions because we will all move on to another airline.

Lets bring Colgan into the mix! Their Pedophile had the largest multi-monitor liquid cooled multiple hard drive kidde porn computer setup the police have ever seen!

Ahhh, reminiscing over old times, this is fun.

You've gotta be hateful though. Insult someone this is the interwebs!

First of all, anyone who shows up to interview for a job thats pays 20 bucks an hour fails right away for mental unfitness. So it's a catch twenty-two situation. BTW written tests are a waste of time at these interviews, sim eval=yes.

Can't flush the list. Bloch said Colgan pilots had career expectations. The rest of you obviously didn't.

Signed,

A lawyer who got paid very well because 3 groups couldn't decide.

It should have been DOH from day 1. Mesaba wanted it. 9E did not because their merger committee (2 of the 3) had to represent the top senior side and because about 200 9E pilots would be impacted negatively by DOH, they took a huge stand against it. Colgan wanted relative for obvious reasons but if 9E had accepted DOH and stood together with Mesaba on that issue, then that would have left Colgan demanding something else. The operation would have continued with three separate lists until Colgan was basically liquidated and planes went to Republic. Once the Colgan pilots would have seen that, they would have gladly accepted DOH because a job with longevity credit is still better than being jobless. DOH would have been the list and everyone could have moved on knowing that if they lost their seat, it was because someone was literally senior to them. None of this 2005 guys getting downgraded while 2007 Colgan guys keep their seat BS.

The only way out of the mess you guys are in is to get out. You made your bed, but you don't have to sleep in it.
Hopefully it doesn't fold before you can go somewhere better.
Best case...continued attrition and no applications from new hires then close the doors.

Some of us didn't make our bed...that's the problem. We lost 4 years of seniority and are sitting reserve after 10 years +. Contract wise.. True, majority made their bed.

Unfortunately true, and those responsible don't give a rats. This industry is done as far as the regional feed is concerned, but we have to stand firm and resist the pressure from the majors as long as possible. When no more new blood is coming along, the piper may have to find a different tune to play.
Right now, if you have some time left, plan to go elsewhere, and as far from Endeavor as you can get.
It will shut down. So will others, eventually, thanks to the yes voters at 9e, PSA and such like.

I still see pukes running to get airplanes out on time. On our message board there are still f u c k i ng idiots arguing about pride and dignity to be on time and be company. Fo's tell me captains from all range of seniority get shaky knees when the clock starts running down and the doors are still open. I gave up a long time ago and our pilot group. I hope this place shuts down to the ground. POOOOOF !!!!!

That must be a terrible place to work. At ASA most are still quite happy, but I fear we will get into the same situation. The pinnacle and PSA cave-in dealt us a terrible blow with our contract outlook, and its a source of terrible bitterness toward those pilot groups. That is fact.
Its going to be a long time before that animosity changes.

It's been like this before the SLI. I'm pre merger OG pinnacle. Spineless tramps high fivin for ontime. History repeats and we are our own enemies.

There are actually people out there that think this big hiring is a good thing. It's to try to stop the bleeding. Unfortunately the bleeding is in a major artery!

Clearly you don't desire the battle royal being given a rest if you also can't resist the urge to pile on. The only thing this merger has made abundantly clear is that Pinnacle and Mesaba pilots are cut from the same cloth and that any differences between them are perception only.

Perhaps you should call the NEW (read pinnacle) ALPA leadership and ask them how handing out PINNACLE ALPA shirts at last weeks recurrent ground school pizza party is "giving it a rest."

I wonder if T.W. would have thought that was a classy thing to do?

Was that the lunch with the fireworks? Had to leave in the middle cause I was gonna say something that might get me fired.

Nobody will go to Endeavor. There is not point in adding the day of testing, video interview, etc.. What a joke. Other regionals can't even fill their classes. Imagine the new bottom feeder trying to find candidates. You deserve what you asked for.

Just a very confrontational lunch. Lots of raised voices and accusatory statements. MEC chair, in my mind, started the whole thing with his attitude. Might need some training on how to speak to people, not at them.

Just a couple months ago this whole mess was called Pinnacle Airlines and the Pinnacle ALPA MEC. How is the handing out of surplus shirts with our name as of a couple months ago offensive to you? I'm sure if they had any surplus Mesaba MEC shirts they would give those out as well. I know I would wear one even though I've never worked at Mesaba.

Get over it man.

Is TW still the MEC chair?

No, The former Vice Chair is now Chairman. The names are at the bottom of the union emails if you are interested.

Is TW flying the line now, or is he back at ALPA HQ? I'm only asking out of curiosity, no agenda...

Endeavor isn't offering anything except to become the bottom of the list for the next year until we park enough airplanes that Delta is happy. After that you may be able to get off reserve but the pilot group total number will continue to shrink while the new hires never get a boost to QOL... and they'll be on the dying equipment.

Comair Mk2, exact same playbook.

I heard Delta wasn't going to pull any more pilots up from the wholly owned subsidiaries because they can't staff their feed. I know they've pulled pilots up to this point, but are they backing out of their flow agreements?

Why not buy all DCI carriers, one big staple, then you are able to hire all the 1500 hour guys as Delta pilots. Would you go to Eagle or Delta if you just got your 1500? That eliminates any pilot shortage for all Delta staffing, period.

I heard they managed to get about 20 people from UND that will start class soon. I don't think they will have problems filling seats.
