Get ready we NEED bodies.
The way I read it from JW those that are left get to compete with outsiders for future open positions. Maybe I misunderstood but it sounds like they're not going down the whole list and offering them first dibs, just the ones who are still within the 2 year window since being let go. Sounds dubious to me but then they're also not offering any of the Challenger openings to those of us with sore backs and necks in the Lears so nothing would surprise me.
Gone longer than 2 years it's a re interview, most likely you will get preference in interview dates.
Mr. fugazi, the company offers free mental health counseling for those who seek it out...sounds like it might help your anger issues.

That has pissed so many lear FO's off..what kind of top 100 company would not offer those 300 slots to the poor guys in the Lears sitting bitch for 7 years?! They just don't care about QOL and it's going to cost them in morale.

You mean those same guys that sat in the lears for 6+ years before being unexpectedly laid off on short notice?
Same guys that busted butt for a company for the better part of a decade? They don't deserve a slot?
Or do we not count since we got to play the unemployment game for the last year or four?
Just a few of the joys of at-will employment.
Sure, you get a slot..why should it be a challenger slot when Another guy is senior to you? It should be a seniority thing(fleet specific) with FOs just like it is with captains. Is it not that way at airlines/ netjunk/ flops?
Because Flex is not any if those companies.
With no difference in pay between aircraft for FOs typing people when not needed would be a huge waste of money with no benefit for the company or pilots.
My paperwork in 2007 said FOs are placed where needed. My new paperwork says the same.
I understand boredom with the Aircraft but spending 30,000$ a pilot to make people happy until they're bored again is asinine.
Maybe I just spent to much time in South American hotels this last year and I'm looking forward to getting back to when my biggest problem were which jacket to wear and the free food not made to order.

Uh huh, well good luck on the recall..
Man I'm sorry for being an ass....
.... But honestly... After six months is going PBI to TEB in a 300 gonna be way more exciting than a 45?
I don't have a dog in this fight, but there is another advantage for the pilots who could change aircraft: obtaining another valuable type rating.
Yeah, okay, spending the training money on pilots when they don't have to does make sense to the company.
But to say there's no benefit to the pilots to switch planes when there's no difference in pay isn't quite right.
It becomes very valuable to have a type in a newer, bigger aircraft if things go bad at Flex, or the pilot wants to move on.
We're dealing with some major out-of-seniority issues at NJA right now (sorry, not going to post details), but there's quite a bit more involved than money.

indeed, good points! In some cases it would have not saved them any money because, they have called back (recently) guys with 45 types and put them in the 300. So we are talking recurrent for the rehire and new type in seniority. Im just saying!! Oh and, another awesome fact..they have allowed all of the 60 FOs to choose the 300 or 605 transition.
fugazi; indeed said:Fugazi,
Regardless of what fleet the new hires/recalled pilots were in prior to leaving the property, anyone who is brought back on property must go through a complete new hire process including a full aircraft type. Therefore, from a company standpoint, it cost more to move guys from the 45 to the 300/605 and then type new hires back into the 45.
In regards to the 60 drivers, only 4 were true FO's. The other 6 were CAFO's who have now been fully downgraded. Yet, there are still 4 or 5 45 CAFO's who can still do CA trips. So maybe the company threw those 6 a bone. Also,as long as I have been here, it has always been company need, just look at the current seniority list.

So what you're saying is that if you were let go last year, and you were in the 45, already typed..you would then have to go through another full 45 type?!?! QUOTE]
Yes, that is what I am saying. Once you terminate under 135, you must go through the complete new hire and type process. That is why it does not matter if you had a type in aircraft. One of the recalls just went through 300 recurrent 3 or 4 months ago and must go through a complete initial again.
The lack of movement does in fact suck, but notice we are the only ones hiring. I believe it is partly due to us being as busy as you know we are and due to attrition. Who knows what is going to happen when the 75's start to come and the 85, if they ever get that thing flying.
