Aircraft will conduct approaches with speed brakes extended so as to keep the engines spooled. In case of missed approach or go around there won't be any spool time required, just stow speed brakes, add some power and reconfigure. Like Tweets.

Lockheed actually kind of had that going, in a watered down way, 40 years ago!

new warning system when going below set ref speed. "Check Speed"

This may have helped the crew that stalled the Q400 in BUF also

Will mandate greater use of automation for all approaches, such as, you shall not turn off autopilot until 1000' even on a VFR day and shall not turn off auto throttle until 50'. Boeing will develop software that will override pilots if out parameters below 1000'.

Great idea. Surprised they haven't done this yet.

Keep it simple, just have the computer yell the solution. "Power" or "nose down".

Or the likely they will make mandatory we have to do a visual approache with zero automation the sim.

EMBRAER offers something like that on the E-170/175 (don't know about -190/195) for 5.5deg GS approaches. Selecting the 5.5GS switch to the left of the throttles causes the approach to be flown with spoilers up (though I don't recall how far up).
