US Airways didn't merge with TWA. In that case, they didn't mention Reno Air or AirCal, either.

No kidding. The video was covering the rich histories of BOTH carriers, and TWA was a historically significant part of AA.

Actually what allowed me to "have a job long enough to merge" was AAA pilots that came before myself enduring the loss of pension, work rules and thousands in pay. Plus many hundreds that did not come back after furlough. I (we) would still be doing ABE-PHL turns in a Dash if it wasn't for these guys - not anything Mesa Grande contributed.

What little old AWA did have going for it was Doug Parker. I have plenty of issues with him, as do many others I'm sure. But what that man has done with the raw materials is nothing short of astounding when one takes a step back and looks at it objectively.

I personally don't think it was lost on the big money people behind all this, and that's reflected in the role chosen for him.

The AAA gave nothing up voluntarily, except their pensions, stupidly BTW.

Friends of mine were already under contract to move AAA airplanes for the lessors when USAir was rescued by AWA. AWA had to cover AAA payroll for the first couple of months. There was nothing left.
