What regional would everyone recommend to someone who actually lives in Columbus, Ohio? I was looking at Republic mainly for the CMH bases across all three certificates.
I know Expressjet and Commutair have CLE bases, however I'm over 2 hours away.
PSA has a Dayton base which is alittle over an hour away.

skywest would be a great option. I am sure they are working on taking over the flying there as they did in MSP.

In this business you're going to learn that a 2 hr drive to work is actually a good thing. Much better than a 2 hr flight commute with tons of standbys and jumpseat taken.

Airnet used to have a large operation there... when Airnet was a large operation. They might still have some ops there.

My advice to you, apply to all, interview with all who invite you than make your decision. Aviation is a fickle mistress get ready.

I moved to a domicile only to see it close and upend my lifestyle. In aviation, be ready for anything and do not expect it to last (ever).

Cheers-

A CMH rjet is the closest thing to eternal life that you will find on this earth.

Until, that is, the company realizes how expensive these lifer captains created as the result of their stupid outstation basing are.

Then they'll just open another outstation base that is not within driving distance of the old one.
