Dude...this app is just for fun while bored in the cockpit. It in no way replaces the radar and common sense. Relax a bit...

I am pretty sure there are better things to do when crews are bored in the cockpit rather than check on cloud height.

Might be useful for VFR flyers.

I enjoy using the Radiation Exposure App when I'm bored. It tells you how much longer until you will get Stage 3 skin cancer :)

Any airline pilot that uses this app for fun in the cockpit needs to be kicked in the nuts.

It's the same idiots who plug in a "30 mile fix" into the fms instead of using your damn noggin on when and how fast to start down. You're not splitting an atom up there. Use your damn brains.

Fly a plane with VNAV and autothrottles and it truly becomes mindless. That is, until you've put "garbage in."

Idiots? Adding the same 30 mile fix is a procedure that is recommended by the OM, and greatly helps one to fly the airplane more precisely and efficiently in the descent. If you feel more comfortable using your brain great. I don't get paid any extra for it so I'm going to you all the avionics resources available to me.

Earth curves 8" per mile.
I use the 30 fix whenever cleared direct to destination with no STAR or other altitude, it's much more accurate for a nice 3.8 deg flight idle and good reminder when the snowflake drops.

So you don't like to use all resources available to you? Yeah, it's easy math...until you're at the end of a red eye and all you want to do is go to sleep. Then, it sure is nice to have programmed in that reminder.
