Didnt they already have somebody flyings Saab's? Wasnt their name Mesaba?

Same ******************** as CAL did. "WERE GETTING OUT OF PROPS INTO AN ALL JET FLEET" "oh ********************, that didnt work" "WERE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH XXXXXXXXXXX TO FLY PROPS WHICH WILL GIVE US AN UNPARALLELED EFFICIENCY ADVANTAGE OVER OUR COMPETITORS".

Bunch of bull ******************** if you ask me.

This is great for GL it cuts costs at the contract carrier level. Increasing Delta profits. Increase Delta profits increase DALPA's ability to negotiate a better contract for Delta pilots.

Thanks. I don't pick who flies the planes, or which planes fly where, except my vote did help reduce the total RJ numbers by 148 hulls, and add a ratio that gave mainline more of the domestic "pie." I believe though that any airline doing DL feed or codeshare has oversight from Mother D. That would make sense.

Just wanted to make sure every one understands what is happening.

GL it is ok to admit that you voted for the TA only based on the pay raise you received.

No, that wasn't the main reason at all. Fewer RJs total and a larger ratio in the domestic market for mainline was key. There was even tighter INTL scope too. A pay raise of nearly 20% over 2 1/2 years didn't hurt, though. But improvements in scope was primary.

Jenny is a sellout for the moola. Notice she didn't mention allowing bigger RJs keeping us regional trash here longer. Such a putz!

GL, the regional scope is not good. Time will tell if the international scope is good. I have a feeling it is not as good as many think. DAL gave a big raise to sweeten the deal.

No, the regional scope is better. More than 200 50 seaters will be parked. What takes over those 50 seat city pairs? 70 and 76 seaters. What fills in for them? That was the great part of the deal. 88 717s. Had the 50s stayed for 3 more years (over 300 50 seaters had leases through 2015), there would have been too many seats out there, and the 717s would not have been needed. It was a good deal either way for management. Either we agree and fly the 76 seater cities with 717s (upguaging), or the deal falls through and SWA has to choke on the 717s for a few more years, which clearly they didn't want to do. So, we got 88 717s to recapture routes that were given away in the past, and we park for good 148 more RJs that were out there prior to the contract. The better ratio for mainline domestic flying, via the 717s, is just icing on the cake. DCI does get 70 more 76 seaters, that is true, but 200 plus 50 seaters go away, and they don't get any 76 seaters until 717s arrive. Again, fewer RJs total by 148, 88 717s, better ratio, higher pay, short contract. That is all good.

Btw, by 2015 the 717 will be the smallest plane in the DL fleet, paying $195 an hour in the left seat for 12 year pilots(all Capts these days). Not bad. I have my eyes on the 737-900ERs that will start coming at 3 per month at the same time 3 717s come per month next Summer. Throw in an app, things will start to move after next Summer most likely.

How's the corporate Kool-aid taste Lee?

Now now it wasn't corporate's fault. We can thank Big Brother ALPA for selling out another generation of SNB's. General Hypocrite only needed one Grand Admiral Moak sponsored road show to 'see the light' and develop blind allegiance. Magic stuff they can spin up in Herndon esp for the narrow minded.
