This should be fun. Which one is better. I know, I know, they are both 50 seat sh*t tubes that everyone loves to hate these days but I want honest opinions on which A/C is less of a sh*t tube.
 
145 is much more pax friendly. The 200 sucks. As for pilot preference, no clue.
 
Which ever one pays you the most while you build enough expirience to GTFO!
 
How many threads have there been on this subject over the past ten years?

About the same number as backyard discussions on whether Ford, Chevy or Dodge pickups are better...
 
I thought the 145 was better. The only thing I didn't like about it were steep turns in the sim. The trim switches were too close to where your hand is. During normal line flying was not a factor. The FADEC notches were really nice too. Oh and EFIS COMP MON was a pain in the CRJ..
 
My take....
Stand up room- crj
Seat comfort- crj (more of seat vendor issue)
Cockpit ergo and visibility- erj
Cockpit noise-crj
Climb performance-erj
Payload-crj, but the winglet version erj I think better
Lav-erj

But the real difference is each aircrafts use as a training platform. The crj is the training platform for the CRJ-700, 900, and even the 1000. We can train a 200 pilot in 700/900 differences in a week total. The erj training is unfortunately not applicable to any larger Embraer products. With pilot shortage looming for regionals and larger aircraft being the only thing on the horizon, I believe the Erj is more limiting.

You're assuming that the larger Embraer products are related to the 145 series. The 170/190 is a clean-sheet design that is superior to the larger CRJ products which are little more than minor modifications and fuselage plugs.
 
Having flown both. (Over 5 years in each) I like hand flying the ERJ better. a lot more fun to takeoff and land..... But if i hade to get stuck flying one for 5+ years...The CRJ is way better.. Quieter, more sturdy, better systems, just don't climb that great...
 
The only way you can consider the 145 better for pax comfort is if said pax gets to sit on the left side and not halfway into the lap of the person seated next to them on the right side of the aisle. Otherwise, the CRJ is generally nicer, but that's not saying much. The Embraer buckhorn bars are kinda weird at first, but I actually missed them when I moved to the RJ.
 
what you are all arguing does not matter one bit. What matters is cost-take Delta for example. They will force the parking of whatever cost them the most money. I am sure the same will go for the others.
 
They're all junk by now. Not meant to take the abuse. CRJ is a much better-built airplane, but the cockpit switches and controls are no good. Caked with layers and layers of dust, ketchup, shed skin, coffee, and a hint of body hair, you can"t push in the push buttons. God forbid you may need to stow a reverser with those things
 
Whichever one pays you the most.....

Can't speak to flying them, but having worked in the back of the EMB 170, 190, 135, 140, 145, and having ridden on the 700/900...

145 windows are nicer for pax because you don't have to break your neck to look out. Seats are about the same, although the 145 single seats are a pain because of less space for carryons, and the lack of overheads on the left side is a pain as well. CRJ 200 galley beats the EMB big time. More room up there and you don't have to stand half way in the cockpit when pax are deplaning.

The 170 series beats them all. Plenty of room in overheads, pressurized toilets, nice size seats, and lots of work space in the galleys....
 
I'd say that since the xrj's are rarely if ever weight limited, and they can carry 2 jumpseaters (FA JS) I prefer the 145.

I think the LR's can carry just as much weight now...The landing structural weights are higher on the XR, but then again the XR weighs about 1,000lbs more than the LR empty.

If you're a JSer, you're more likely to get on an ERJ especially with 2 JSs.

Depends, in Denver IIRC when it gets hot you become climb restricted for MATOW. I believe the XR's is higher than the LR's as far as payload.
