Update 1:53 p.m. ET: FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt has been placed on leave after he was charged with driving while intoxicated over the weekend, the agency said Monday.

The Transportation Department, which oversees the FAA, said it didn't learn about the incident until Monday, two days later. Deputy Administrator Miguel Huerta will serve as acting administrator while officials consider Babbitt's "employment status," the Transportation Department said..
 
There goes the FAA flight time legislation. They'll now come up with something else and spend years studying it to death. Another hit to our careers.......
 
Besides all that, what was Obama thinking when he offered him the job in the first place. Was he not aware of his previous history...you know,...airline pilot and all??....GOSH!!!...:cartman:
 
I'd be willing to bet that the office vultures have already picked his office clean of supplies. Nothing left but a desk, a chair, and if he is lucky any pictures on his desk.

It's too bad that the public perception and stereotype of a pilot has been validated at the highest level.
